Sophie's POV
~
"What if we eloped?"
My eyes dart to Trey as soon as those four words leave his mouth and I know my expression screams are you crazy? Because that's exactly what I'm thinking right now.
"And why the hell would we do that?"
"Because I just proposed a few hours ago and I want to be married already!"
His words draw my gaze to the ring now sitting on my left ring finger. It's simple and delicate and pretty and everything I've always wanted. After two years of loving this man, I should think he knows me so well. And I love him all the more for it.
I meet his eyes again and smile, snuggling further beneath the blankets on our bed. "You know we can't do that. I want my family there and I know you do too. We can't just... get married."
He rolls closer to me, slipping his arms around my bare waist and pressing his naked body to mine. I fit into him snugly. It's like second nature. "Sure we can. We can go to the courthouse and sign the papers. We can say the cheesy lovey-dovey stuff beforehand, just for us."
My nails trace along the curve of his neck and throat as he speaks, drawing light patterns against his tan skin. "But... What about the whole ceremony thing? This white dress and the flowers and having my dad give me away... and the reception with all our family and friends, the first dance..."
Trey's quiet for a moment, then he sighs. "Yeah that would be fúcking awesome, huh? I'd quite like to see you walking down the aisle towards me."
I smile, "It doesn't have to be a super big thing and we don't have to take months to plan it. I'll find the perfect wedding dress and we'll order my favourite flowers. We'll have our families and close friends attend. We can even do it at someone's house honestly, or a park somewhere. And we can find a nice restaurant that does weddings - and we all just go there for the reception."
"We could do it at my grandparents' place. The ones with the huge property out of the city? We could get some gazebos and do it all outside. I mean, it's May now, so we could do it in June or July when it's warm? Have the reception outside and have string lights and everything hung up. Rent a good speaker system and stuff." Trey suggests, slipping his thigh between my own and pulling me impossibly closer to him, wrapping my body around his own.
"That would be perfect! We could have the ceremony in the afternoon, then do photos and everything, have dinner and then it will be dark by the time we start dancing and everything. The kids can have the whole yard to play and that property is beautiful - we get it on the right day and we'd have such amazing photos." I agree, leaning up to give his lips a slow kiss just because I can.
When we pull away, he smiles down at me, "Did we just plan our wedding?"
I grin up at him, "Three hours after we got engaged? Hell yeah we did."
He lifts his hand up and I slap it with a high five. "Power couple of the century we are. I mean, we just had some fúcking out of this world sex and ten minutes later, we've got our wedding sorted. People take months to plan this shít."
"Maybe we should quit our jobs and become wedding planners."
"We'd be amazing at it."
"Obviously."
"We can start our own business. It'll boom and we'll be millionaires by the time we're thirty-five."
"Now that would make us the power couple of the millennia."
