Y/n POV

"Senator Brandt, I regret to report that Captain Steven G. Rogers went missing behind enemy lines on the third. Aerial reconnaissance has proven unfruitful. As a result, I must declare Captain Rogers killed in action. Period."

It had been weeks since we heard from Steve, everyone had assumed Steve was killed, or taken hostage by HYDRA. Wherever he was, no one could contact him. Ironically, I had lost my best friend from, finding the boy I had fallen in love with. I was devastated, to say the least. I found myself in Colonel Phillips' tent, going over Steve's past history, being that I was the only one alive that knew anything.

"The last surveillance flight is back. No sign of activity." Peggy walked in, she looked down to me and gave me a weak smile.

Me and Peggy were close, we took care of eachother. And as much as Peggy hated to say it, we both cared about Steve.

Chester told Corporal to get a cup of coffee so that he could talk to me and Peggy privately.

" I can't touch Stark. He's rich and he's the Army's number one weapons contractor. You two are neither one."

"With respect, sir, I don't regret my actions. And I don't think Rogers did either." I told him

"What makes you think I give a damn about your opinions. I trusted you, and Rogers decided to let you into the army, without enlisting. And now America's golden boy and a lot of other good men are dead, all because he was your best friend, and Agent Carter here had a crush"

"It wasn't that, I had faith"

"Well, I hope that's a big comfort to you when they shut this division down."

There was yelling of men, running toward the edge of the camp, "what the hell?" I mumble

I ran over to see what was going on, then I stopped. There he was, my one true love.

Phillips and Peggy run up behind me. I couldn't move, I felt paralized. His brown eyes scanned the area until they met mine. He let out a sigh of happiness when a smile formed from ear to ear. He dropped whatever it was he was holding and ran up to me, arms wide open. I  jumped into his arms, legs wrapped around him. My head was buried into his shoulder, tears of joy streaming down my face. I pulled away from the hug, he let me down. I touched his face before more tears fell down my face and he kissed me. His lips were something I so desperately missed, I missed him so much, here he was, arms wrapped around my waist lips pressed on mine. The dirt from his clothes got on my white uniform but I didn't care. He was home. And he was in my arms.

Again.

Steve and other soldiers were cheering as we pulled away from the kiss. Peggy smiled, and walked up to Steve. Bucky and I stepped back, as he put his arm around me, I missed that too.

"You're late." Peggy said

Steve held up his broken transponder and smiled, "couldn't call my ride"

"Let's hear it for Captain America!" I yelled, everyone cheered, Bucky kissed me again.
