"Bucky I swear to god don't do it!"
You yelled as Bucky stood on the ledge of the bridge, putting his foot over the edge to freak you out. The drop wasn't far but it still scared you, if anything happened you wouldn't forgive yourself.
"Oh calm down Y/n!" He laughed, he slipped and almost lost his balance, he let out a big gasp of air, "I think I should get down now" he said as climbed off the bridge and walked towards you, your arms were crossed and you rolled my eyes as his cocky smile grew on his face,
"Don't ever do that again" you said as he wrapped his arms around you
"Never again" you felt him smile as he grabbed you tight
Summer was ending, you could feel a cold wind hit your back, the water was calm, birds were singing as the sun set along the water line. Bucky looked at you, he found out about being drafted in the war and couldn't bear the fact that he had to leave you.
"Hey," he whispered, "Steve wanted to meet up, so I should probably get going"
"Probably a good idea, tell him I said hi" You told him, pulling away from the hug
"Will do"
He started to walk back down the bridge when you called out to him,
"I love you!"
"Love you too" he smiled and started to run away into the city, you looked over the bridge to the water. It was sparkling as the last fragments of the light shown off of the water.
"Better start heading home," the familiar voice of Steve Rogers surprised you
"Steve? Bucky told me that you're meeting up with him"
"I will, he's just picking up some things for dinner" he walked over next to you
"You're welcome to join us if you'd like" he smiled, he was such a skinny little dork but he was one of you best friends
"Nah, that's alright, mom wants me home for dinner anyways, she says we have 'things to discuss'" you put air quotes around the words he giggled,
"Well, maybe some other time" he looked from the water to you, "hopefully before he leaves""Yeah, wait leaves? Leaves for what?" Your head perked up to make eye contact with Steve
"Shit, he didn't tell you?"
"Tell me what?"
"Nothing, nothing, nothing it's fine" Steve was backing away
"Rogers I swear to god if you don't tell me I'll beat your ass" Steve got bullied a lot but you were always picking on him the most.
"Ok well, so," he was stuttering trying to find the words, "you know what, I'll just let Buck tell you" he started to walk away frantically before you grabbed his shirt,
"Tell me"
He let out a sigh,
"Bucky got...drafted"
You let go of his shirt and stepped back, you were shocked, he was leaving.
"I'm so sorry he didn't tell you sooner Y/n" he tried to hug you but you pushed him away as a tear streamed down your face,
"Can I come? To dinner with you guys, tonight?" You asked
"Of course" you started walking as he followed behind, Bucky was leaving and didn't even bother to say goodbye.
And that's the start to my new book!!! I'm really excited about this one!!!
