3rd Person POV
August 13th, 2014 (takes place during Captain America: The Winter Soldier)

You and Natasha Romanoff pulled up to the park to meet Steve after his run. You and Nat had gotten close, some would say best friends. She, in some ways, reminded you of Peggy, a tough, strong, independent person, who needed no validation from any man. And they both would look great with Steve. Nat pulled out her phone to tell Steve to meet us at the curb. Once we drove up to where Steve was, he was standing by someone when he turned around to face the car. Nat rolled down your window and smiled at the gentleman.

"Hey, fellas. Either one of you know where the Smithsonian is? I'm here to pick up a fossil." She jokes

"Get in the back Rogers" you smiled

"Yes ma'am" he said, getting into the back seat of the car.

The guy who Steve appeared to be talking to earlier gave off a flirtatious smile to Nat I assumed, and then we drove away.

You had trained with Natasha mostly since you became an avenger, so the both of you got along well, you both had similar personalities, took no shit from any man but had a soft side for a certain one, yours was Bucky obviously, and though Nat didn't seem to have anyone, you always thought her and Steve would be endgame.

After stopping by S.H.I.E.L.D Headquarters and changing into a more fit outfit for fighting crime. You were in your snug fitting suit that was close to what Nat wore, it was black as well with pockets along the side of your legs that would hold hand guns and knives. It was the suit of an assassin, and though you weren't one that's what you would think of slipping on the black ensemble and strapping a pocket knife to your waist. Back in the 1940s your ideal weapon was two vibranium batons that would turn into a S.H.I.E.L.D, much like Steve's if you so pleased. Your original batons were lost when the ship crashed, so Tony made a new pair just for you, including more accessories that you hadn't tried but would be useful if you ever needed them. You got on the aircraft flying over the Indian Ocean within other agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

"The target is a mobile satellite launch platform: The Lemurian Star. They were sending up their last payload when pirates took them, 93 minutes ago." Rulow said pointing to a map

"Do they have any demands?" you asked

"A billion and a half"

"Why so much?" Steve questioned

"Because it S.H.I.E.L.D's"

"So it's trespassing" He said, his desire shrink as he realized that all he was going to be saving was because Fury couldn't pick up after himself

"I'm sure they had a good reason," Nat commented, looking down at a tablet with the exact coordinates of the boat.

"Exactly" you jokingly agreed

"You know, I'm getting a little tired of the two of you getting all buddy-buddy"

"Relax" you and Nat both said at the same time, and then smiling to each other

You both enjoyed the idea of pissing Steve off, of course you would never intentionally try to make him that mad, well Nat maybe.

"Did you do anything fun Saturday night?" Nat asked Steve grabbing a few handguns off the rack of weapons

"Well, all the guys from my barbershop quartet are dead, so no, not really."

We both laughed at his sarcastic comment, when he opened the door to drop out from the carrier

"I bet if you asked Kristen, you know  from statistics she'd probably say yes" I laughed, if I couldn't get a date maybe Steve could

"That's why I don't ask" Steve said as he jumped out of the plain, without a parachute

Once Steve was out of the plane, as you were adjusting your parachute to your back, Nat told you, "I bet he won't ask any other girl out because he's into you"

You looked up from the latch on your chest, "me? Please, me and Steve are just friends nothing more"

"Whatever you say, agent" Nat playfully saluited and you both jumped from the plane

Just as you were falling a memory came back to you, you couldn't exactly make out what it was but what you could remember was that you were in the ship with Steve, making the biggest sacrifice of your life, all you could make out was him saying "I figured, I would tell you this now, because I don't think I'll ever get to say it again" before everything going black.

You woke up a few seconds later to Steve's voice, "Y/n?"

Your eyelids start to perk open as you see Steve and Nat standing over you, "What the hell happened?" your voice was groggy and slow.

"You totally spaced out right before we landed on the ship, you feel right on to Steve knocking him over," she tilted her head, "it was actually pretty funny" Nat smiled and let out a little chuckle after the sentence.

"Not funny Natasha" Steve said holding out his hand as you grabbed it and got up

"It's kinda funny" you muttered

You and Steve both split ways as you and Natasha went off to be badass bitches and kick some ass.

Y/n POV

What Steve didn't know was that Natasha and I were sent on a different mission sent by Nick Fury himself, to collect any information about S.H.I.E.L.D. Since it was originally S.H.I.E.L.D's ship it wasn't hard finding the engine room where all the information was kept. We stood by the laptop as Nat put in a hard drive capturing any information about S.H.I.E.L.D that she could. Just then, the 100 year old man came running through the door tackling some HYDRA agent onto the ground, without noticing me and Nat stealing all of S.H.I.E.L.D information.

"Well this is awkward" the gingerd ex-assassin joked not taking her eyes of the computer.

"What the hell are you two doing?" Steve asked

"Aren't you gonna check if the guy is still alive?" I asked

My comment being ignored, Natasha said in a snarky way, "Backing up the hard drive. It's a good habit to get into"

"Rumlow needed you two, are you seriously stealing S.H.I.E.L.D intel?"

"Whatever I can get my hands on..." she said, her eyes still locked with the computer screen as the data finished processing.

"No seriously I think I just saw the guy move" I said, being ignored again

"Our mission was to rescue hostages" Steve said starting to lose his temper

"No that's your mission, ours is completely different" Nat said looking away from the screen and bac at the blue eyed blondie, "And you've done it beautifully"

Before Steve could say anything, the man who was laying on the ground was standing up. All of a sudden he threw a grenade at the three of us. Natasha grabbed the hard drive and Steve deflected the bomb. All three of us ran away from the bomb into the glass window which shattered as Nat shot it with her gun so we could jump in swiftly and without hesitation. Right as we got into the office the bomb went off. We sat there for a second to catch our breath,

"Told you so" I said

Steve got up, not mentioning my snarky comment, grabbed his shield that somehow ended up next to me and walked away.  Me and Nat looked at each other a little confused but we both knew Steve wasn't very happy with us.
