Y/N POV

We sat in the bunker, planning the best course of action to defeat Schmidt and his team.

"Johann Schmidt belongs in a bug house. He thinks he's a God. He's willing to blow up half the world to prove it, starting with the USA." Phillips said as we all looked over to the map of all of Hydra's base camps. Most of the small red flags marking where the camps were had been knocked off because we had taken them all hostage. There was just one red flag left, and that's where Schmidt was, and that was where he was going to die.

"Schmidt's powers are much more advanced than what we've ever been able to achieve. If he gets from the Atlantic he could have the power to wipe out the entire east coast like that," I snapped my fingers imitating that he could so easily kill everyone within seconds

We were informed of other information that we needed. We had roughly 24 hours till he made his way across the world, to the states. There was just one thing I couldn't figure out,

"My question is, how are we supposed to get in. We can't simply knock on the door."

"That's exactly what we're gonna do" Steve looked across the map to me, he let off a small smile. The serum might have had an effect on his body, but he was still an over confident kid from Brooklyn. He treated every mission like it was a fight in the back of an ally, the occasional "I can do this all day" was dropped a few times, I loved when he said that though, even if he was on his knees bleeding out, he would still make the comment. He never gave up, that's what I loved about that boy.

We walked out of the small bunker, Steve walking along my side, it was about 6:30 in the morning. I was never a morning person and saving the world this early was not exactly my cup of tea.

"So, you and Carter" I said to Steve, he was extremely bad at hiding his feelings. Like when he liked me, his face would turn bright pink whenever I simply touched his shoulder. And now with Peggy he would smile when she talked, if he made a joke he would look over to Peggy to see if she smiled. Peggy liked him too, Peggy was a tough cookie, never laughed and didn't smile often. I didn't blame her, if you wanted to be noticed for something more than a woman in a military uniform, you had to work for it, harder than any woman would ever have to. But when she was around Steve, she would constantly smile, and laugh even if the joke wasn't that funny. Peggy was smart but I was smarter when it came to this kind of stuff.

"Me and Peggy aren't dating"

"Why not! I mean she's perfect for you!"

"I'm just not ready for it"

"Well then when will you be" we stopped walking once I asked him that, he stared down into my eyes not saying anything, and then he turned around and continued to walk.

"Be patient Y/n, just be patient" he said as he walked away,

I scrunched my nose, and made my way to a small medical tent where I changed into a suit. It was a simple black suit with a silver star like Steve's on the arm. My weapon of choice was two sticks made of vibranium that would turn into a shield like Steve's if I so pleased. During one mission destroying one of Hydra's base camps I found Steve's shield on the ground, even after Stark told him he got some of the last vibranium in the world he still treated the shield like a frisbee and left it scattered around. I picked it up and used it until Steve forced me to give it back to him. Bucky told me that it suits me better, and well he wasn't wrong. Even though my hair was long I always did it up into tight curls away from my face. So I pulled my hair back into a tight bun so that it wouldn't get in my face when I was kicking ass. I grabbed a handgun and put it in the hollister on the leg of my suit so I could easily access it. I put the two bars on my back, and walked outside to the helicopter which sat Colonial Phillips, Steve and Peggy. We would drop Steve off right outside of Schmidt's base camp. Then me, and the rest of Steve's team would come in on que. The plan seemed risky, but Steve trusted it, so I trusted Steve.
