Y/N POV

"We have to stop that launch" I said to Fury

"Unfortunately Miss. Y/l/n, I don't think the council is accepting my calls at the moment" Nick Fury said to me, he then pulled out a small box with three chips inside of it, "Hydra has taken over our Helicarriers, and once they reach three thousand feet-"

"Terminal destruction" Maria finished

"We can try to salvage as much as we can-" Fury said before I interrupted

"No" I stated

"I'm sorry?"

"We aren't going to salvage anything, S.H.I.E.L.D has been compromised if you haven't noticed."

"Why the hell do you think we're meeting in this cave? I noticed"

"How many people had to die before you did?"

"If this is about Barnes-"

"This is about the people, S.H.I.E.L.D, Hydra, all of it. It has to go."

Fury looked around for support on his side, Natasha raised her eyebrow as did Maria, and Sam shrugged in agreement.

"She's right," Steve said, Nick's eyes shifting over to him.

"Well Y/n, it looks like you're giving the orders now, Captain."

I let off a slight smirk, and crossed my arms, Captain, it had a nice ring to it.

Me and Steve sat on the bridge, overlooking the large river. It was late August so the leaves were still green and the birds were chirping, and it was still somewhat warm.

I let out a large sigh. Not of relief but more or less because the man I was in love with decades ago was now a feared assassin whom I would soon face again. I looked up into Steve's crystal blue eyes, searching for an answer of whether or not Bucky was worth saving.

I didn't get an answer from him but instead he said the words to me, "You still love him, don't you?"

The answer to his question was simple yet I found it hard to respond to, and yes I was, but maybe there was someone else in mind, presumably a blond haired super soldier who was the face of the nation.

"I'm...not sure" was all I could say

Before Steve could say something Sam appeared on the bridge, "He's going to be there, you know that right?"

"We know" Steve responded

"I'm sure the both of you had a very close relationship with the guy but I don't think he's the kind of person you save-"

"He's someone you stop" I finished, I had accepted the fact that Bucky was no longer the person he was in the 1940's. The person whom I would dance in the rain with, had fallen asleep on his couch over and over again. His scent was very distinct, not something I could describe other than it smelled like home. Now he was dark, and cold, nothing like what he was before.

Steve looked over to me, surprised at what I said, claiming that Bucky was someone that belonged behind bars. Sam was a little surprised as well even though he'd only known me for a short time.

"We'd better gear up" I said before walking away

"You plan on wearing yoga pants and a t-shirt?" Sam asked in a joking tone

"No, if you're going to fight a war you gotta wear a uniform" Steve understood what I was saying and followed me to the museum where we were not too long ago to get the uniforms that we did wear long ago.
