Y/n POV
Steve Rogers had been inside S.H.I.E.L.D's headquarters for a long while probably biting Fury's ear off about how me and Nat were supposedly 'jeopardizing the mission' drama queen.
He walked out into the garage where I was standing, we walked to his motorcycle which was parked in the far back of the garage.
"When are you gonna get an actual car?" I asked while he handed me the matt black helmet
"The bike brings back memories" he said putin on his own helmet
"Like when you flung it into the air and set off a giant explosion?"
"Sure" he chuckled, he wrapped his leg around to the other side of the bike, sitting comfortably.
I followed, sitting on the back of it wrapping my arms around Steve's torso as he pulled away from the dimly lit parking lot. I didn't know where we were going but I did remember that before Steve went to talk to Fury he told me he wanted to take me somewhere. Which didn't really help, like at all but I always had a thing for adventures. We had been driving for a good ten minutes when another memory came back. All you could make out was Steve's voice saying, "I'm in love with" until Steve snapped in your face bringing you back to reality.
"Y/n we're here"
I looked around as I stood up, taking off my helmet. It looked like your common suburban area, parking lot, silver benches that would make the back of your legs stick to the seat in the summer. There were a few street lights that were not lit because it was light out. There were little holes in the ground filled with dirt and a potted tree. There was tan cement separating the clash of the dark parking lot to the sidewalk. My eyes traced from the ground to the building. Frankly I was surprised Steve Rogers would take me to a museum about himself, he was never really the cocky type.
"Shall we?" Steve asked holding out his elbow for me to perfectly place my arm through his
I latched on, "we shall"
We walked into the dimly lit building, there was a ticket booth in the front. We handed the woman working in the booth 10 dollars, in exchange she gave us two tickets for all access through the museum I think it was. The museum had different sections, some talked about his childhood and others talked about his service. Some articles hung on the wall lit by a spotlight even mentioned the attack on New York not that long ago. The building was nothing more than mostly a big room with a few different sections leading off of it. The walls that hung quotes, materials, stories, facts, most of the display was not there permanently, this was all obviously a temporary display probably just in case Captain America went rogue. We made our way through the museum reading some of the long stories from people that the both of us knew.
"Huh, nothing about your best pal? Since well like birth" I whispered
"Well it's a museum about me, not you" Steve joked
"Well I suppose I fought for two years for literally nothing, great"
"I actually brought you here for another reason other than to show off, I got a whole museum dedicated to me," Steve said, pulling me to a glass display.
We walked up to see a picture of Bucky, a voice automatically started reading the dialogue, "Best friends since childhood, Bucky Barnes, Y/n Y/l/n, and Steven Rogers were inseparable on both schoolyard and battlefield. Barnes is the only Howling Commando to give his life in service of his country."
I looked up to Steve, his eyes looked sad,
"I miss him" I told him
"Me too"
