Rainbow Six Siege: A Dying Flame: OC X Dokkaebi

12: Calm before the storm

Athena is in the middle of a match as she's the last remaining defender against three attackers being Ash, Oni, and Jackal. She's holding down an angle with her EBR 14 and using her one eye to watch the camera overlay and sees Jackal about to peak as she prefires hitting him in the head and knows Ash is around the corner as she wants to hold the angle but knows Oni is lurking around somewhere.

Athena slowly walks back as Ash quickly peaks firing her rifle forcing Athena back into cover as she's laying on her side pulling out her 1911 waiting for the perfect shot as she hears Ash about to turn the corner as she fires her 1911 nailing Ash in the head. She goes to get up but grunts feeling Oni place his knee against her spine.

Oni: "nothing personal Naomi." He says with respect and eliminates her resulting in the attackers winning the match. "You did the best you could in a piss poor situation." He says trying to make her feel better while helping her up. Naomi heads to her armory and is putting her equipment away but is struggling to remove her plate carrier.

Naomi: "you fuckin!-" she snaps but stops herself seeing Vigil there.

Vigil: "calm down you animal." He says helping her remove it as Naomi shakes her head.

Naomi: "says the guy that can eat two bowels of cereal in six minutes." As Vigil looks her in the eyes confused. "Yeah that's right, I fuckin timed it... You prick yourself or something?" She asks noticing the small bandage on Vigil's arm.

Vigil: "nah, doc just wanted to give me a blood test, I personally think he's wasting his time but it's whatever." He states as Naomi stretches out letting out a moan of relief.

Naomi: "right... I'm gonna go for a short workout, wanna join?" She offers as Vigil questions the fact she's wanting to work out. "Hey I got a nice body to maintain, ain't no training session gonna deter me." She says with sass as Vigil can't really argue with that.

Vigil: "sure I'll join you." He says walking to the gym with her as he's helping her keep count of her pull-ups. "You're going pretty hard today, there a reason for that?" He asks as Naomi hangs while looking him in the eyes.

Naomi: "just trying to pass the time is all, I like to keep myself busy." She says continuing to do pull-ups as Vigil figures it's also because she's eager to participate in a mission again.

Vigil: "fair enough, just don't hurt yourself." As Naomi chuckles once again hanging from the bar.

Naomi: "aw you worried for me Chul?" She jokingly asks trying to put him on the spot and does exactly that as Vigil is stammering through his words.

Vigil: "I... Why are you..." He questions as Naomi chuckles softly while letting out of the bar.

Naomi: "aw... Feeling embarrassed Chul?" She asks walking up to him as they're nearly even in terms of height as Vigil's face flushes red. "Wait he's actually blushing? Interesting. Sorry Chul, didn't mean to make you uncomfortable." She says as Vigil stammers saying it's fine. "Oh so I can make you flustered whenever I wish?" She asks jokingly again making Vigil flustered.

Vigil: "no you can't." He fires back earning a soft smirk from Naomi.

Gwisin: "well aren't you two adorable?" He jokingly asks while approaching them.

Naomi: "shut it, you look like you're ready to go somewhere." As Gwisin twirls a tablet handing it to Naomi.

Gwisin: "Sung-Ho did give us a heads-up on an attack in South Korea again, their plan is to capture a few South Korean military officers and Charlie Bradford is the one leading this attack, you want in?" He asks as Naomi nods immediately itching for fieldwork.

Naomi: "who else is coming along?" As Gwisin lists off Dokkaebi, Vigil and Montagne. "Nice... I'll get my gear together." She says with enthusiasm as both Gwisin and Vigil stare baffled.

Gwisin: "well someone's happy." As Vigil scoffs while nodding.

Vigil: "no kidding, let's get this done." As he hits Gwisin in the shoulder as they all gather their gear and are taking a cargo plane to South Korea.

Dokkaebi: "what ya listening to?" She curiosity inquires towards Gwisin who looks over with one ear bud in.

Gwisin: "Estrada recommended some music and honestly? I'm growing quite fond of the ones I've listened to, then again I never really listened to much music." He admits as Dokkaebi inquires why that's the case as she can barely go a day without hearing music. "I lived a very sheltered lifestyle."

Dokkaebi: "oh so kinda like a hermit?" She teases while placing her head on his shoulder.

Gwisin: "hmph I don't really make a good hermit or much of anything really..." He says feeling Dokkaebi tightly grasp his hand in response to this. "okay... I make a good friend I guess." He admits as he notices Dokkaebi snuggling up against him. "Are you using me as a pillow?" He bluntly asks not minding this at all.

Dokkaebi: "yes I am, it's a long flight to South Korea." As Gwisin chuckles to himself saying fair enough while laying his head back and decides to rest for the time being. He soon begins dreaming back to one of his worst memories.

Dong-Hyun is currently waiting to cross as he and Gyeong watch their parents move along the log and wait for them. Dong-Hyun looks over at Gyeong and motions him to cross but he looks nervous when Dong-Hyun strokes his hair giving a reassuring smile as Gyeong begins carefully moving across the log while Dong-Hyun listens closely but the rain is obstructing his hearing severely.

Once Gyeong crosses, Dong-Hyun slowly begins crossing being careful with each step on the slippery terrain but thunder briefly rumbles before booming loudly as this causes Dong-Hyun to slightly jump and slip off the log as everything slows down for him while he reaches for his father's hand but is grabbing at nothing but air as he plummets into the river which begins taking him against his will.

He desperately calls out for his parents breaking the one rule his had set but is ultimately submerged to the point that he passes out from the shock. He eventually finds himself beached and begins coughing heavily and vomits out water as he has tears in his eyes with his lungs quickly taking whatever air he can get into them.

North Korean soldier: "well lookie here, it appears we found a runaway." As he punts Dong-Hyun in the face which causes Gwisin to awake from his nightmare.

Dokkaebi: "you okay?" She asks with a soft voice.

Gwisin: "another nightmare, day I got separated from my family." As Dokkaebi looks down with a heavy sigh.

Dokkaebi: "lay your head on my lap." She calmly demands earning a deer in headlights stare from Gwisin. "Just do it." She says whilst pouting as Gwisin lays his head on her lap looking up at her.

Gwisin: "uh what are you doing?" He ponders while Dokkaebi begins caressing his forehead and strokes his dark hair.

Dokkaebi: "my mother whenever I'd get a nightmare would do this to comfort me, I'm hoping this helps you even a little bit." She says with hope but also embarrassment as Gwisin closes his eyes as this is actually the first time in a long time that someone has done this.

Gwisin: "you're honestly reminding me of my mother right now but thanks nonetheless." He says staring into her eyes as she suddenly boops his nose. "What was that for?" He quietly asks with a smile.

Dokkaebi: "you were zoning out Hyun, and in my direction no less." She says feeling embarrassed while stroking his hair.

Gwisin: "oh uh... My apologies. What is wrong with me? I've never zoned out like that before unless... Oh no." He thinks to himself as Dokkaebi gives him a cute smile. "I'm starting to like her... Way more than friends." He thinks to himself but hides this deeply behind a soft smile. "Can I blame myself though, Grace ever since I joined has been there for me, she's got fun personality, honest and is... Beautiful." As he now fears the possibility of losing someone close to him again as it's happened before so why wouldn't it happen now.
