J U N I O R   H I G H S C H O O L

"Grade 12 ka na next school year, Arrow! Sana all!" Macey sipped from her iced tea as they're inside the school café. Candace on the other hand was busy writing her assignment. She fell asleep early yesterday, and woke up late so she doesn't have any time to do it in their home. Mabuti na lang at after lunch pa ang pasahan kaya makaka-abot pa siya.

"Tapos ka na?" Bryson asked beside her, eating. Bryson put a spoonful on her mouth. Busy kasi siya sa ginagawa niya, and Bryson, being Bryson, helped her eat.

"Malapit na." Aniya habang ngumunguya. She wanted to just make a simple essay paper, but she couldn't do it. A high expectation from their teachers since she's one of the running honor students in their class, and she have to maintain it. She can't disappoint her teachers, as well as their school because she belongs not only as an honor student, but a top student in their batch.

"Gayahin mo na lang 'yung sa akin. " Bryson said.

"Gago ka ba?" Ganti niya agad.

Bryson just laughed beside her, and put another spoonful of food in her mouth. Macey and Arrow was eating while having a talk. Macey's done with her assignment already, and since the lunch time of the whole school are at the same time, kasabay nila pati si Arrow kumain sa canteen.

"Review-review na for college." Arrow sighed. Katabi nito ang libro nito sa Chemistry at nagbabasa habang kumakain, habang nakikipag-usap kay Macey. Well, Arrow can't just ignore Macey talking just because he was busy studying and eating at the same time. Arrow has a huge crush on Macey, and if she was right, it's already beyond that.

"Ano bang course mo sa college?" Macey asked.

"Mom wanted me to take BS Biology, so I can take Med School after, but I told them I'll take BS Microbiology, okay lang naman daw sa kanila."

"Pathology course pa 'rin after Micro Bio?" Bryson asked all of sudden.

Arrow nodded. "That's the dream..." Arrow chuckled. Kapagkuwan ay tumingin ito sa kaniya at nagtanong. "Tapos ka na sa assignment mo?"

She shrugged. "Almost." She said and went silent. Hinayaan niyang mag-usap ang mgakaibigan niya habang siya ay tinapos ang sinusulat niya. After she was done writing on her paper, kinuha niya kay Bryson ang pinggan niya, at siya na mismo ang kumain.

"Saglit." Bryson left them.

"Hindi pa ba tapos kumain 'yon?" Macey asked, munching another blueberry cheesecake. Nagkanda-lobo na ang pisngi ng kaibigan niya sa katawakan ng blueberry.

"Si Candace, hindi pa."Arrow answered, now busy on his book. It amazes Candace how Arrow was able to chit-chat with them, at the same time reading the book as if he fully absorbs what's written on the book. If she'd be in Arrow's shoes tapos may kakausap sa kaniya, baka masampal niya na ng libro.

She just sighed, and finished her food. Saktong dumating na 'rin si Bryson at may biglang inilapag sa tapat niya. A familiar smell invaded her nostrils as she stared at it. Umupo na si Bryson sa tabi niya nang parang walang nangyari at walang inilapag sa harap niya.

"Uy, Takoyaki!" Macey beamed. "Pahingi!"

She emotionlessly looked at Macey that made her best friend still. "Subukan mo."

Macey just grinned habang si Arrow ay isinara ang libro. "Tara, bili tayo ng sa'tin, Macey." Anito at hinatak si Macey patayo. Macey as a kid she is, went with Arrow and the both was like a crazy bunch of idiots walking.
