Levi Sumner, a happy go lucky instrumentalist adopted into an African American home, has to face a world that believed he didn't belong. Soon, however, he meets a girl named Amora Wisely. She, too, was living life on edge.
After the murder of her si...
"How does it feel to be blind to your fear?" Levi whispered into my neck. He said those words as if he was some creepy wizard stirring poison in a cauldron.
"Good," I giggled while biting my lip.
He kissed my jaw, "The things that run through my mind seeing you like this..."
I elbowed him in the stomach and he folded over, grunting. "I was teasing!" he winced.
"Perv," I said back.
Lian cleared his throat, "I'm uhhh right here, y'know?"
I didn't have to see Levi to know he was wearing that smirk on his face. "Public show, am I right?"
"Please take me away from this monster, Lian," I sneered playfully and held my arm out.
Lian hooked his arm through mine without a second thought, "As you wish, babygirl."
Levi looked at the two of us, suddenly not so playful anymore. "Now listen here. You're not just going to-"
"What was that?" I laughed over him.
"I don't know, think it's a mouse," Lian responded.
Levi was going to kick his ass soon.

"I can't see shit," I waddled, and Lian rested his hands on my shoulders to place me in front of the mic.
"You're in front of the microphone, need a stool?" he asked.
"Nope, I'm fine as is."
Lian went over to knock on the glass divider, and Jace came jogging up to it. "What Jungkook?!"
I snorted.
"I'll take that as a compliment," I heard Lian mumble.
"Need a beat?"
"If you don't mind."
Josiah's voice filled the speaker, "Aw hell I'm late. Y'all eat the cake already?!"
Dumbass.
Lian placed headphones over my ears, "That hurt?"
I shook my head, "I'm ready to go."
"That's our girl," Jace said into the speaker, "We freestylin'?"
"No better way," Lian said and stood in front of the other mic.
I heard some guitar chords, automatically knowing it was Levi.
This darkness was actually so satisfying. The ability of not being able to see had me levitating. It made me feel like anything was possible.
"Start off with something slow," Jace said into the speaker, "You're up Levi."
I took a deep breath and heard the keys of a piano. The way the sound engulfed in my ears made me feel one with the melody.
"Dealt all them cards, got my heart sold out...now I'm stuck in your mistakes, finding it hard to leave your town...Got me addicted from the start, that dick toxic, and that's not the only thing hard, but I fell in love and I've got a price to pay, couldn't fix my errors, and in the end I got played--"
Jace's voice came over the speaker, "Let's go Jungkook."
Lian began to sing, "I understand, but y'know babygirl I'm not one to lie though I can really mess up your mind, everything in love takes time...and you know it, we're too afraid to own it. Just drop your man, there's a lot to learn and I'll show ya, just--"
I smiled and budged in, "Come around, bring me down..."
Lian chuckled into the mic and added more, "Take it slow, we're on the low, just hit me up shawty and I'll give you more-"
"Cut, cut, cut!"
"Ah damn," Lian groaned and ran his tattoed hands over his face.
I had no idea until now how well he sounded when he sang. It was low and mellow with a little twang. Even the sexy little chuckle he gave went well with the flow.
"Uhhh how did we do?" I asked him, not being able to see their reactions.
"You did amazing. I think I fell off somewhere," Lian said.
I took the blindfold off and blinked my eyes repeatedly. It was fuzzy at first until I was almost blinded again. "The light!!"
He laughed and Jace spoke into the speaker, "We gonna put this out after some touches and additions. What y'all wanna title this?"
Lian looked over at me, "Come Around sound good?"
I nodded and saw Levi waving his hand up in the air on the other side of the glass to grab my attention. What did he want?
"Heh?" I mouthed, confused.
He held up his keys.
Lian interrupted my concentration, "Oh no, we gotta go?"
I bursted out laughing.
Lord, have mercy. This man knew queen Minaj memes. He became more and more likable every day.
Levi gave me a look and I quickly walked my way towards the door, "I'll be seeing you Lian. Send me some snippets later."
He grabbed a gold mic, about to go another round, "For sure."
I met Levi in the other room, and he knelt down, hugging my legs, before throwing me over his shoulder fastly.
"Hey! Let me down!"
He kissed my hip as he stood straight again, "Nope. Somebody wanted to be slow."
"Both the Levi's are leaving??" Josiah asked.
Levi covered my butt with his arm as he turned around to face them, "Yep. Say bye baby."
"Byeeee~" I whined, not wanting to go. I liked this place. It was like a second home.
Levi started walking out with me, and Josiah shouted after us both, "Y'all better be heading to chucky cheese or sum'n cuz, I'm not playin'."
I rolled my eyes, and when Levi and I made it outside, he put me back on my feet.
"Why are we leaving so soon, Levi?"
"Got an appointment."
Appointment?
We both got situated into his car and I watched him as he drove.
He would clench his jaw here and there and one of his hands kept running up and down my thigh slowly. My thighs were basically his stress balls at this point.
"Levi, are you okay?"
He sighed and stopped tensing, "I...um...I have issues, Amora."
