I was expected to change for gym.
The girls' locker room was basically a cave—a solitary, cinderblock space with a line of showers in the back that didn't work, and no privacy.
I hadn't hit puberty, and my chest was completely flat.
My Mother bought me a training bra, but it was uncomfortable, so I didn't wear it, and she told me I didn't have to.
For weeks, I joined the other girls in changing before and after class.
I made a friend, Kylynn. She was very confident and pretty much knew everyone.
One day, after school, she took me aside,
"The other girls think it's gross that you don't wear a bra."
