two nights ago the marauders had devised a plan to throw 'the great food fight of 76' on friday night during dinner

at first sirius insisted it be a magical food fight but then remus reminded them of what a good old fashioned muggle food fight is capable of. so they came to an agreement that it would not involve magic

in fact they had agreed to take it so far and place charms on the great hall preventing magic from interfering with the food fight

it was to be authentic, memorable, legendary if you will, and down right messy

over their years at hogwarts they had discovered many things: secret passage ways, patterns of the staircases, the room of requirement, and plenty of other things

included in their knowledge was that their meals were levitated up from the kitchens straight to the serving plates. it was why and how the plates never ran out of food. this meant that until the food stopped appearing the food fight would continue

they had only ran into one problem: what do we do about people who dont join in or dont enjoy it?

do we warn them in advance? do we just let them figure it out for themselves? do we leave the doors open so they can leave if they please?

it was ten minutes prior to dinner and they still had not come to an agreement about it

"its the nice thing to do though, right?" remus asked pacing around the library

sirius rolled his eyes as he laid on the couch, "oh common its only right we lock them in with us. its the marauder way."

"i agree with remus on this one," pete piped up

sirius kicked pete who was sitting on the other end kf the couch, "ouch!" pete grumbled rubbing his elbow. sirius just grinned

"isnt there a way we can block the door and only those who really wanna leave will be able to?" like if they secretly want to stay, theyll be forced to?" james offered

"i think the only thing that can do something similar to that is protego diabolica, and well we cannot use it," regulus stated

"why?" remus questioned

"because for one its meant to keep enemies away from the castor, two any enemies who try to pass through get burned to death, three its dark magic," regulus listed, "should i go on?"

sirius sat up, "okay reg we get it."

regulus smirked while everyone laughed

"then i guess its sirius approach," remus sighed

sirius jumped up throwing his arms around remus and kissing him obnoxiously, "moony! i bloody love you."

"i know, i know you do," remus chuckled pulling sirius off of him

"so we are really just gonna lock everyone in?" pete asked cautiously

"yeah," everyone else answered in unison

"besides im sure mcgonagall could stop it all quick enough if it got bad," james reassured pete

"yea that woman is something else," reg agreed

"brilliant but scary," sirius added

not long after it was time for them to head to dinner. regulus, slowly becoming the honorary marauder, was in charge of making sure the slytherins got involved. the slytherin table was at the far left end and gryffindors was one away for the far right side

upon entering the great hall regulus and the marauders when their separate ways. the beginning of dinner carried on as usual. a few minutes it the boys decided it was time for chaos to strike
