"Y/N?" Marinette says again, her knocking becoming more insistent. "I'm coming in."

I barely have a second to react before the doorknob twists. Adrien gives me a panicked glance as he rolls off the bed, courtesy of his Chat Noir reflexes. He slides cleanly underneath, leaving not a trace behind.

"Hello, dear sister," I say, forcing a grin. "What brings you to my room? I thought you were at Alya's house."

Marinette shrugs. "I was. I came back to get my bag. I forgot it again."

I nod quickly, scratching the back of my head. "You left your bag in my room?"

"I think so." Marinette pokes her head around the corner. "I swear I just tucked it either in your closet, or maybe under your bed?"

Of course she did. "Why would you put your school bag under my bed or in my closet?"

"I didn't want Mom and Dad to see the drugs I was buying." Marinette says jokingly, rolling her eyes. "I don't know, Y/N. I just put it here. I was in a rush."

Marinette checks the closet first, shoving clothes and books aside. No bag. Then, she walks over to my bed and crouches, pausing with her gaze trained on me.

"Why are you acting so weird?" she says, raising her eyebrows. Her suspicion is clear. "And why do you look so flushed?"

"I just woke up," I explain. "And it's hot in here."

"It's not even that hot," Marinette says. "And your hair's all messed up too."

"Again, I just woke up."

Marinette shrugs, going to reach for her bag when I jump down and tackle her.

"What are you doing?" Marinette twists around to push me off.

"Giving you a hug?"

Marinette stands, brushing herself off. In the panic, Adrien escaped from under my bed and slid behind my closet door.

Now, my sister looks at me as if I've gone mad. She retrieves her bag from under my bed and clears her throat.

"Look, I don't know why you're acting like — so strange — but I need to ask if you came up with another plan."

"Plan? What plan?"

I realize what she's going to say before she says it.

"A plan for me to go to the movies with Adrien," Marinette says, smiling to herself. A thump sounds from in the closet. "What was that?"

"I don't know," I say. "Nothing. So, about Adrien." I raise my voice. "I'll ask him for you. Yeah."

"What? Really? You will?" Marinette says. "You'll ask Adrien on a date for me? Wouldn't that seem lame?"

Distracted, I say: "Possibly...Listen, I have to get dressed. We'll come up with another plan later. And I promise I'll help you."

Did I just offer to help my sister get a date with my...well...Chat Noir? Here comes the panic mingled with guilt. It's not that I don't want her to be happy — she's been crushing on Adrien since the dawn of time.

But Chat Noir is Adrien and he's two feet away in my closet after we spent the night together.

Marinette leaves and Adrien comes out of the closet.

He smirks. "Both Dupain-Cheng girls like me," he says, smugly. "I'm in heaven."

"Adrien, your Chat Noir is showing," I say, rolling my eyes. "And you better not hurt Mari's feelings. She's...well, she's really in love with you. Although I think it's more the idea of you."

"I am pretty great," Adrien says, "and everyone knows it."

"Shut up," I say. "Check your ego, mate."

"Mate?" Adrien pretends to be hurt. "I thought we were more."

"Are we?"

"Do you want to be?"

Adrien shrugs, and then looks at the floor. His confidence has been replaced with a vague nervous energy. "Go out with me?"

"Yeah, duh, Kitty."

Adrien grins, and then checks the clock, his expression slipping. "Jeez. We need to buy watches."
