Chapter 23 song
~My ex's best friend (Machine Gun Kelly)

P.S. The song doesn't exactly match with the chapter but you could imagine it altering the words from my ex's best friend to my ex boyfriend lol.

I stood completely frozen in my place. Blake. My mom's boyfriend's son was Blake. The same Blake I knew. Wow.

Am I seeing things?

Blake and I stared at each other for sometime and I could see he was just as shocked as I was.

"I think we're at the wrong house," Blake told his dad.

I looked at his dad and realised it was the same man my mom was with that day after coming back from the creek.

Nope. You're at the right house.

"We're at the right house, Blake," his dad said.

I realised I had been blocking the entrance and I moved a little and Blake's dad walked in. Blake followed.

"Hey Bab - Liz," Blake's dad said. I'm sure he was gonna say 'Babe' but stopped when he realised we were around.

He called her Liz. Her name was Lindsey and only some people, like her close friends, called her Liz.

It was awkward.

I invited then to sit and we all sat at the dining table.

"So you're Sydney, right?" Blake's dad asked.

I guess I was referring to mom's boyfriend as 'Blake's dad' way more than as a boyfriend.

"Yup."

"Oh and how do you both know each other?" Blake's dad asked Blake and me. He probably figured that out by the way we said "Sydney?" and "Blake?" at the same time.

I was gonna say we were in the same school but before I could open my mouth, Blake said, "We're friends and we're in the same school."

A friend huh?
