Dear readers,

Every author's note will be written in italics from now on. This is chapter 1 of Sydney's new life. Let's hope you like this chapter. This was just the start of the roller coaster. I decided to recommend how many ever songs I can that will make sense to listen to during the chapter.

My eyes fluttered and I woke up to the bright sunshine which came from my window. "Holy Marshmallows! The second last day of summer!" I screamed devastated. I got up and went to the toilet to brush my teeth. I quickly ran into the shower and once I was done, I immediately started packing my backpack. I put on my blue hoodie and slipped into my denim shorts. I stuffed some clothes into my backpack, grabbed my phone, kept my headphones on my neck and rushed downstairs.

"Mom! I'm going to Kay's for a sleepover! I'll be back tomorrow!" I yelled. I want to the dining table and grabbed my sandwich. I was near the door when my mom gave me a big hug and realised that I hadn't brushed my hair. I waited as she got the brush and tied my hair into a neat ponytail.

"Bye, love you Syddie."

"Love you mom."

I hugged her and stepped out of the house.

I connected my headphones to Bluetooth and tapped on shuffle, just the right volume for me to be able to hear if someone said something to me.

On the way jogging to Kay's house someone shoved me in the shoulder and I fell to the ground. I fell backwards on my bottom and my backpack acted like a cushion for my back. Owww, it was pretty painful. The dude, around my age was wearing a hood on his head, you could barely see his face. He looked at me and laughed.

"Watch it!" I yelled.

He stared at me like I wrongly accused him. I got up and dusted my bottom and continued jogging.
