#31 Just an accident

I woke up in the hotel bed and sat up straight. Kaycee was already up and I didn't see Leah out Courtney in the room.

"Jeez Syd, do you know how late you woke up?! Courtney and Lee - Leah are already down eating breakfast. We've got like ten minutes before we leave," Kaycee said.

I looked at my watch. "Oh shit! Sorry!"

But it took just a few seconds for my memory to come back. Holy- shit!

"Kay, please, please, please tell me what I think happened last night isn't what happened. Please tell me it was a dream..."

"Unfortunately-"

"GAHHHHH!" I yelled out of frustration. What had I done?

"Why didn't you stop me?" I asked her.

"Hey! It's not my fault, I didn't think you'd do that in the closet, how would I have known?"

"Why did you let me drink so much?!"

I realised it came across like I was blaming Kaycee but it was my fault. "Sorry, it's my fault..." I owned up.

"Well, now that that happened, I was right all along. You guys were meant to be."

"Oh please. It was just an accident. A very horrible one..."

I got ready and we ran to the lift and then went to the restaurant. We could only eat very little since we were late and all the while I was feeling bad about making Kaycee wait. We still had sometime since the bus driver was apparently arriving late.

I looked at Drake who seemed to be doing his own thing. He caught me staring and I looked away. He was expressionless. How does he manage to act so well on stage but have the most bland expression when it comes to real life?

He acted like nothing happened. Now that I thought of it, we hadn't even spoken to each other yesterday. Like... Not spoken at ALL. Even after the kiss...

When the bus arrived we got in and our personal guide told us the agenda for the day. We were gonna go sightseeing to Central park, the 9/11 memorial, take the ferry to see the statue of Liberty and then we were gonna come back to Times square where we would be allowed to eat, shop or do anything for a few hours without a teacher following us. We would be allowed to go on groups but making sure everyone's phones were not on silent.

The best part of the trip was being at Times Square. We were there by late evening and all of us were given ten dollars to spend on dinner.

Kaycee, Nico, Noah, Axl, River and I spent our evening together. Kaycee first practically forced us to go shopping. We ended up buying matching black hoodies and then Kaycee bought a bunch of other stuff for herself.

By the time Kaycee was done, she had practically exhausted us and we were all so hungry. We decided we wanted pizza and went to a place called Joe's pizza where the pizza was like - the best pizza I had ever eaten in my life.

Axl then dragged us to the Disney Store telling us it would be fun to take pictures. Call us kids.

It was actually super fun though. The setup was like it was made for silly photos. We probably made the best memories of the trip in that store. There was a huge collection of plushies and loads of cut out backdrops. There was a statue of Anna and Elsa right in the middle of the second floor, where we all posed like it was super cold.

To finish off, we went to Shake Shack and got a few milkshakes. We were all pretty proud of how productively we had spend our time over there.

We got a call and assembled near the bus and went back to the hotel.
