Before I knew it, it was Monday morning. Although I definitely had enough money to live on, considering how rich the Aquila family is and the money that comes with being a hunter, I needed to branch out socially, so I got a job. I was employed as a barista at a downtown cafe, called Firefly.

I was comfortable being alone all the time before I took the hunter exam. However, the loneliness got to me and some allies I made during the exam encouraged me to come out of my shell a bit. And so, I applied to Firefly. This is where I met the few friends I've made since my arrival in York New.

I threw on a black turtleneck, baggy black jeans, and Doc Martens. I made my hair look decent, put on a bit of light makeup, and headed out the door.

"(Y/n)!" my coworker, Priscilla exclaimed.

Priscilla is the closest friend I've had since Serene. She seemed to always be in a good mood. She also was familiar with Nen and did well with it, but she put most of her focus into her job, which was as the assistant manager. She was a petite woman with curly hair that sat on her shoulders, a beautiful dark skin tone, and the most contagious smile.

"Hey," I said to Priscilla as I put on my apron.

"How was your birthday? I'm sorry I couldn't make it."

"It was okay. And don't worry about it." I reassured her.

"Are you sure? I just feel really bad about it. How about we go out on Halloween?" she suggested.

I groaned. "Go out?"

"Yeah! I was thinking the casino? I know you aren't big on meeting new people, we can just keep it small. Me, you, and Aito. And Marilyn, of course!"

Since I'd just turned eighteen, I was now able to enter the casino and drink alcohol as well since the casino was in a province with a lower drinking age.

"Fine. That doesn't sound so bad," I muttered.

I started my shift, cleaning out machines and dishes, mixing coffee, and occasionally chatting with my coworkers. I had a break at noon and decided to eat there.

"Why the long face?" another friend of mine, called Aito, asked. He pulled out a chair and sat across from me.

Truthfully, I'm still confused about the whole Antonio situation. I'm still processing the fact that he is my brother along with everything else he told me.

I scooted my chair further into the round table and responded, "It's nothing. Hey Aito, do you wanna go out with Priscilla and me on Halloween?"

"Go out? Where?" he inquired.

"The casino," I replied, taking a sip from my latte.

"...Will Marilyn be there?"

"I mean, Priscilla will, so... common sense?"

Aito rolled his eyes but had a look on his face that told me he would come along regardless of his dislike for our coworker, Marilyn. He stood up and went back to work; I followed along after I finished my lunch.

Soon enough, the clock struck 3:00 p.m., which meant it was time to go home. I was exhausted, yet managed to walk back home. As soon as I entered my bedroom, I plummeted onto my bed and took a nap.

"Ugh... what time is it?" I murmured to myself, grabbing my phone off of my nightstand.

Eight o'clock?!?!? Had I really slept for that long?

I checked my phone but felt too muzzy to respond to any messages. I let out a deep breath and stretched a bit before standing up. After making some pasta, I sat on the couch and turned on the television. For the next thirty minutes, I was relaxed, eating my dinner while watching a romance movie.
