Aito stood on the porch, holding a container. Whatever it contained, I could not make out. "It's freezing, let me in!"

I stepped aside, letting my friend in. His black hair had grown a bit and he was dressed in a green and gray striped sweater. "Maybe you'd be warmer if you had worn a coat."

"Yes, but how else would everyone see my outfit?" he asked, doing a spin before removing his shoes. "I've missed you, (Y/n). How have you been?"

"Aw, I've missed you too," I said and meant it as I lead Aito to the sofa. "I'm good. What about you?"

"Same here. Hey Kurapika!" he greeted the blonde as he stood in front of the fireplace, warming himself up.

"Hey, Aito, right?"

"Yup! You both just came back from Glam Gas Land, huh? I love that city. They never stop partying or drinking. Went there for my 20th birthday a few months ago."

I laughed as I hovered over the sofa. "We sadly didn't get to party, really. Anyways, Aito, make yourself at home. Serene and Zero should be here within the next hour. I'm going to change my clothes. Kurapika, you should do the same."

Soon enough I was wearing a knitted white mini dress with a sweetheart neckline, black tights, and white pumps. I put a pair of diamond earrings through my ears and fixed my dark-red lipstick that I had applied earlier that morning. When I was satisfied with my appearance I left my room, shutting the door behind me. My body immediately collided with another.

"Sorry!" I apologized, looking up at Kurapika, who was now dressed in a black turtleneck and khaki-colored dress pants. Butterflies appeared in my stomach once I released our bodies were still touching.

"No worries," he assured me, looking me in the eye before his gaze traveled down my body. He then turned around and went back downstairs. I heard a few Ooh's and compliments from Aito and Priscilla.

My phone vibrated in my hand and I checked it to see a message from Serene.

'About 30 mins away :)'

I smiled at the notification and joined everyone back downstairs. Priscilla gaped at the sight of me. "You look so pretty!"

"You really do," Aito agreed.

Kurapika was the only one who didn't compliment me, but I didn't expect him to. Instead he stared as he failed to conceal a smile, leaning against the armrest of the sofa. I smiled as well and walked toward the coffee table, analyzing Aito's container. "What exactly is this?"

"Mac and cheese," he answered as if it were obvious. "Can't you tell?"

I took off the lid and looked more closely. The macaroni had a slight tint of green. "It looks delicious," I lied with a grin.

There's no way I'm eating that.

"So, Aito," I started, attempting to change the subject. "How's that friend of yours from the casino? Kai?"

He failed to hold back his laughter. "Oh, I kinda forgot he existed. After how he talked to you back in the V.I.P. room, I took some time to think and he honestly sucks. We aren't friends anymore."

"Thank God," I replied through a chuckle. "I couldn't stand him."

"He was quite annoying," Kurapika added, making everyone laugh in surprise. I never thought he would call someone annoying, but I couldn't disagree. I thought back to how he stood up for me when Kai disrespected me, grinning at the memory.
