"how long do you think they're gonna be in there?" carlos asked ricky as he pointed his head to the door. the curly headed boy glanced at the door. he couldn't imagine what was possibly going on in that room. only gina, benjamin, and jenn were in there. he looked back at carlos and shrugged his shoulders.

"no idea, but i can't imagine how gina is feeling," ricky told carlos. carlos nodded his head in agreement and leaned back into his chair. the room was so awkward. everyone was spread throughout the room, not really knowing what to say. so many things unfolded in the matter of minutes and no one knew what to say.

ricky unlocked his phone again, nothing. the boy let out a sigh of frustration and locked it again. he couldn't stand not knowing where nini was. he looked at lewis, who was currently sitting on the windowsill, "i'll be back," ricky told carlos before making his head to lewis.

"if you're gonna yell at me right now, i really don't wanna hear it," lewis told ricky, without taking his eyes off the window. his eyes were red and puffy. lewis looked like a mess. usually, ricky would be happy to see lewis in such disarray but they were both feeling the same way: worried. ricky sighed and sat across from lewis on the windowsill.

"you gonna miss it?" ricky asked as he looked out the window. lewis looked at ricky with confusion.

"miss what?"

"you know... new york?" ricky asked lewis. they both looked out the window again. ricky sighed and smiled, "i don't know what i'd do if i didn't wake up to this city every morning. i can't imagine living anywhere else."

lewis sighed, "i don't know. i love it here but a change in pace would be nice right now. i need a reminder that new york isn't the only place in the world where i can feel home," lewis honestly told ricky. they both looked at each other and let out side smiles. lewis looked down at his lap, "where do you think she is?"

ricky sighed and shrugged his shoulders, "i don't know... i'm really worried about her. she left her phone and took off the tracker on her car. she's never really been out there all alone, has she?"

lewis shook his head, "nope. someone was always watching her ... with her ... telling her what to do," lewis quietly muttered, finally realizing how hard it's been on nini. he let out a sigh, "i wish i could take it all back. she probably would've been here if i never said anything."

ricky got quiet and looked out the window again. he scanned all the people, searching for nini but honestly he knew he was never gonna find her. he started to think about lewis and nini's fight. the words and yells they were yelling at each other. it was heartbreaking to witness it, "i feel like this would of been inevitable anwyays," ricky told lewis.

"what would be?"

"nini running away," ricky told lewis, "she hated everything about her life."

"as much as i hate to admit it, i'm kinda glad you met nini," lewis revealed to ricky. the boy looked up at lewis with a confused look.

"...what why?"

"because now she has a reason to come home," lewis told ricky.
