ricky and nini laid in bed. they were in ricky's bed, laying in silence. ricky traced his fingers up and down nini's back while the girl laid her head on his chest. they knew that this was going to be one of the last times they were gonna be alone together. nini looked up at ricky and sighed, "ricky, i'm scared."

"there's nothing to be scared about," ricky told the girl, "it's all gonna be okay." the boy lied.

even he didn't believe his own words. nini nodded her head and laid her head back on his chest. she used her finger to trace random drawings on his stomach while her head filled with thoughts of being away from ricky. all of a sudden, ricky's phone started to ring like crazy. they both got startled and sat up on the bed as fast as they could.

"who is it?" nini quickly asked.

ricky picked up his phone to see jenn calling him. he looked at nini and gave her a weird look, "it's like four in the morning, why would she be calling me?"

the call ended and then soon enough lewis started calling ricky. they both exchanged looks of concern, "shit. shit. shit. my moms probably know i'm gone."

ricky sucked in a breath and shot up from the bed. he grabbed nini and instructed her to get all of her belongings and to put her shoes on. nini did as she was told and watched as ricky scrambled around his room. the boy grabbed a small bag and started to stuff it with random pieces of clothing, "ricky, what's happening?"

the boy didn't answer. he just looked for more stuff to carry and ran around his room, scrambling. "ricky?? where are we going?"

"we gotta go, baby. just trust me," was all ricky told her before he grabbed her hand. they ran as fast as they could to ricky's car before his parents could catch him leaving the house. ricky saw as his parents bedroom light turned on, but the couple was already in the car. ricky started his car and drove off as fast as he could.

nini watched as ricky drove with anxiety and worry, "ricky? where are we going??"

"we gotta get out of new york," the boy told nini. he used his free hand to hold nini's, "we're eighteen. they can't force us to stay here. we just gotta get as far away from them as possible."

"ricky — i can't let you leave your whole life for me," nini told the boy.

"nini, i can't let you live your life like this anymore," ricky argued back. he took a quick glance at the girl and gave her a nod of reassurance, "it's gonna be okay."

"but what about your parents and your friends?"

"nini. we're doing this," was all ricky told the girl.

nini sighed but nodded her head. of course, she wanted this. all she's ever wanted was to get away from her moms and capulet records, but the girl didn't want ricky to leave his life for hers. ricky had a good life. he had good parents, good friends, and a good career. he was throwing it all away for her.

ricky's phone was blowing up with texts from everybody, asking where the two of them were. nini scrolled through the messages. most of them were from jenn, gina, carlos, ivan, and benjamin. all of them asking if they were okay and where they were. lewis' message caught nini's eye.

"wait what?" nini asked as she reread the message over and over again.

"what?" ricky frantically asked, "what happened?"

"lewis said he knows a place we can hide out and then he can drive us to his private plane in the morning," nini told ricky. the boy arched an eyebrow and gave nini a look of disbelief.

"lewis has a private plane?" ricky asked, a bit unsure.

"well yeah, he uses it to fly back and forth to london," nini told ricky, "should we answer or?"
