"She did nothing wrong," I said to myself as Loki walked closer to me, meeting my gaze.
"No, your mother was one of the best women I had ever met in all my years. We were happy, and you would have been too."
"Why didn't you look for me," I asked through tears as I looked at the floor, holding my arms close to me.
"I knew I couldn't raise a child on my own, I figured wherever you were you were better off," he said as I met his eyes again, seeing honesty and truth so much that it hurt me as I let out a loud sob, and fell to my knees as he knelt down, hugging me close.
"Once you let it all out it will be easier to control," he said as I nodded, my hands touching his arm as both of our skin faded to a deep blue.
"I'm so sorry I wasn't there my princess, but I promise I am now. We can rule midgard, you and me side by side," he said as I pushed away.
"I don't want to rule, I just wanted answers, and now I have them," I said as I wiped my face, and tried to teleport out.
"Fuck," I said blandly as I called Tony over coms.
"Tony, can you come let me out of Loki's cell please," I groaned as I waited for a response. I looked back into Loki's eyes as I saw them change to the icy blue I had previously seen.
"On it, but why are you in there?"
"I had questions I needed answered," I said as he walked through the door with Steve as Steve led me out Tony locked the cell back up, and I walked with them back to the lab.
"You okay," Tony asked as I said nothing.
"Hey, Jess."
"Hmm?"
"You okay?"
"I'm fine, let's just get this scepter figured out."
"Jessica don't lie to me, what did he tell you?"
"I don't want to talk about it right now," I said as I walked over towards the tools in the lab, working on fixing a piece of my armor that was already on the table.
"Jessica, talk to me...please," he said as I leaned on my hands on the table, a single tear falling from my face as I fought the urge to sniffle.
"My grandfather left my mother to freeze to death on Jotunheim, and all because someone told him she was pregnant with me before they were married. It's all...my fault," I choked out as Tony stayed where he was, shock plastering his face.
"It's not your fault, and do you even know if it's the truth? Loki is the God of Mischief," Steve said as Thor spoke up.
"It is the truth, and I know because...because I told our father of what happened when you were born," he said sadly as it almost felt like I could feel his pain. She was his sister in law after all, he would have never done anything if he knew it would hurt her.
"What exactly are we talking about," a man I had recognized from a news article, and one of the greatest scientists ever.
"Doctor Banner, Jessica Stark nice to meet you," I said, forcing a smile as I shook his hand.
"Miss Stark, and I take it you're not Tony's daughter," he asked as I shook my head, taking in the sight of the scepter for the first time.
"So this is the scepter then?"
"Yeah, we're using it to track down the Tesseract," he sighed as I nodded.
"Through Gamma right," I asked as I brushed my hands over the gold handle.
"Jessica, I don't think you should touch that," Tony said as I touched the glowing blue orb in the top as I felt something I hadn't before, and I found myself laying on the floor.
"What the hell," I said as Steve and Nat helped me up.
"Tony, did mom have powers," I asked as I turned to him.
"She did, but she wasn't born with them, I don't know exactly how she got them, but I have a feeling it had something to do with him," he said pointing the tool at Steve.
"Me?"
"After you became Capsicle my father tried to redevelop the serum. Jenna was his right hand assistant, and either there was an accident, or-"
"She was their guinea pig," I finished as I focused on the feeling I had just felt.
"Don't kill me, I'm testing something out," I said as I walked to the doorway, getting a jogging start before full on sprinting, going faster than I had ever seen in my life.
"Where'd she go," Nat asked as I tapped her shoulder, and she knocked me down.
"Don't sneak up on you, noted," I groaned as I stood up, wiping the blood from my nose."How did you-" Nat asked as I smiled.
"That was what Jenna used to do during training on Asgard," Thor smiled as I laughed.
"Well now we know the extent of your abilities," Tony said as I smiled like a child.
"That was fun, but now I'm drained so I am going to go take a little nap," I sighed as I sprinted towards the small rooms containing only a bed and a clock. I flopped on the bed and fell asleep instantly.
"Jessie, Jessica wake up, we're under attack," Clint shook me awake as I ran towards Loki's cell room.
"Ahh good, he woke you like I asked," Loki smirked as it clicked that the small bit of memory I had from before flashed remembering that Clint was under Loki's control.
"Why did you want me," I asked as I realized the cell was gone, and I locked eyes with Coulson who was holding a rather large gun.
"Don't hurt him," I said to Loki as I walked over to where the cell was before I felt a sharp pain, and everything went dark again.
