*Jessica's POV*
It's been two weeks, and absolutely no luck. I've had a headache for three days now, and the girls just won't sleep. I keep hearing voices when I get small moments of silence, and I haven't slept since I got my memory mainly back.
"Please girls, you're going to get your mother evicted," May said worriedly as she tried to hush their screaming.
"Any luck," she asked as I threw my purse onto the table, and grabbed a glass of whiskey, downing the burning liquid as I tried to wash away my failure.
"I've tried everywhere, absolutely nowhere will take me. I'm starting to wonder if it's because I'm a Stark," I grumbled as I took Natasha.
"No, if anything it's because you're a hero," she sighed as I set Natasha down on the floor, trying to calm her down somehow.
"I don't know, but I can't keep it up much longer," I sighed, shifting into a black cat as the room went silent.
"May, do you hear that," I mused in my cat form as she smiled.
"Sounds like these girls need a pet," she laughed as I nodded, turning back into a human before laying the girls down. It was seven pm, and it was dinner at the Parker's. Every week since we all started talking after I got back I went over every Friday and we had dinner together. Peter loved the girls, honestly we all felt like family when we were together.
"So Peter you have a field trip to the museum next Wednesday, you excited," I smiled as I fed Jenna her bottle while sitting with Peter on the couch.
"Yeah, I can't wait it's gonna be fun," he smiled as I laughed, and we all played games and lived happily ever after............did you really think that's the end, NOT EVEN CLOSE!
"Hey Nat, I know it's been a couple weeks, but do you think you could watch the girls for a bit I'm meeting an interviewer for drinks and May is with Peter," I asked the next morning as I held the phone to my ear, and my heels clicked against the pavement.
"Yeah, sure just leave the key under the mat," she said as I could practically hear her smile through the phone.
"Perfect, I don't exactly know when I'll be back, but I do know I have to stop by the tower. Bruce said he started having trouble sleeping so he created some sleeping pill that knocks out even the big green guy, so I will be stopping by later," I said before we said our goodbyes, and my phone rang.
"Hey is this still Jess Stark's number," a slightly familiar voice asked as I stopped in my tracks.
"Yes, yes it is who's asking?"
"Wow you didn't recognize my voice Jess that hurts," he said as I racked my brain.
"Jason Ferner, been too long," I smiled as he chuckled on the other end.
"Yeah, it definitely has, hey listen I was just going through some old boxes from my old place in Cali, and I found some of your old sheet music. Now I'm not trying to take credit for anything, but I actually produce music now, and I was wondering if I could use some of them?"
"You do remember that my dream was to take my singing and songwriting to the next level right," I laughed as he laughed lowly.
"That's why I called actually, I'm in New York right now, but I know you're probably with your uncle so-"
"No, actually I don't see much of him anymore."
"Dually noted, alright just message me, and we can set up an appointment," he said as I smiled, agreeing before hanging up. The next thing I decided to do was stop at the tower, and grab the stuff from Bruce. I walked into the tower, and took the elevator straight to the lab, ignoring whispers as I walked to the ID reader, but my ID wouldn't work.
"Your card isn't in the system anymore," Bruce explained as he swiped his card and the door opened.
"That's nice," I scoffed sarcastically as we walked in.
"Banner can we try to Gamma track the scepter like we did last time," Tony's voice rang before he looked up.
"No, knowing Hydra they probably made a shield of some sort to block the Gamma from being trackable," I explained as he crossed his arms.
"Look, I'm not here to be petty, I haven't slept since I got my memory back, and Banner has something he thinks can help," I sighed, rubbing my temples as I followed Bruce.
"Why did you jump," Bruce asked before handing me the bottle.
"One less monster, I assume you understand," I said, forcing a fake smile as he nodded.
"In a few months the girls and I will be off the grid, and I'm resigning as an Avenger, hopefully that makes you happy enough," I said sadly as I turned to Tony.
"Good, we don't need a villain playing hero," he said, not looking up from his project.
"Just because I'm Loki's daughter doesn't automatically make me a villain, and how dare you say that knowing damn well Natasha was an assassin!"
"Yes I can cause you killed all those people!"
"First off I lost control, second when you guys raid a base you use bombs at least I killed them quickly, and third I haven't been able to live with myself since it happened," I said lowly as he chuckled.
"Right, cause being the princess you are has made you open your eyes to the people around you," he scoffed as I felt a sting of pain at his words.
"I've always cared about people, when I wasn't in school or working I was volunteering in your name at shelters, and cleaning up the streets with a group of kids from school, but you didn't care so why the hell would I have told you," I yelled as tears blurred my vision.
"Because I raised you!"
"No you didn't," I screamed as I realized I was off the floor, my hands glowing, and my eyes shining their green and blue.
"Leave, now," Tony said as I put myself back on the floor, and storming out. The headache, and the whispering had been becoming worse by the minute, and that was when I wanted to figure it out. I felt like I was being pulled somewhere as I made a green line, and it led me along as I darted through the air. When I finally landed I had to stop and rest for a moment before falling into the snow.
"Okay when I get a house I really need to practice more," I huffed, pulling myself out of the snow, and fazing into my suit as I approached a stone building hidden carefully in the mountains. When I approached it I felt a wave of something, like a shield I walked straight through go through me as I walked through the quiet, going inside.
"What is this place?.....and why does it feel so familiar," I asked myself as I felt the tug worse than before, pulling me to a metal door.
"Stop her," a thick Russian accent spoke as I created a thick wall of ice in the doorway so I could follow the pull. I found myself being pulled to Loki's staff as my right hand grabbed it tightly. A large burst of light enveloped me from the staff as my veins turned a black, and my eyes turned black, the blue of my eyes glowing as I felt a darkness settle over me.
