It's been a couple days since the battle, and Thor's been asking me to go back to Asgard with him since then.
"Please Jessica, I think you'll like it there," he begged as I poured coffee into my mug, and yawned, my hair sticking up in all directions. All of us had been stuck in the triskelion until Thor was supposed to bring Loki back today, and I was hardly getting any sleep with everything going on, and my newfound PTSD.
"If I agree, what happens," I asked as Tony and the rest of the team walked in.
"Agree to what," Tony asked as he grabbed a mug from the cupboard.
"Thor wants me to go with him back to Asgard," I sighed as Tony dropped the coffee pot he had just picked up as it shattered on the floor.
"Are you okay," Nat asked as I realized I was staring at nothing, the sound triggering a memory as I remembered getting smashed through a large office building window.
"Y-yeah I'm fine, Tony I didn't agree to going."
"You were going to though," he said as I bent down, teleporting a dustpan and broom into my hands as I swept up the glass.
"I-I don't know, Earth's my home, my family is here," I said as I put my arms around Steve and Nat.
"The indestructible treo," Nat smiled as Steve and I laughed.
"Do you not wish to meet your real family," Thor asked as I scoffed.
"Tony is my real family, my father never looked for me, and Tony's always been here for me. They're my everything," I said as he sighed.
"If you come you can come back if you so wish," he said, his eyes meeting mine as I looked around the room, my eyes landing on Tony.
"I think you should go," he mumbled as all eyes landed on him.
"Tony?"
"You deserve to have a chance at a real family, and not what your mother and I had," he said as he walked out of the kitchen, and I looked at Thor before running after Tony.
"Tony, wait please," I said as I walked in front of him, stopping him.
"Jess, do you know why your mother left home in the first place?"
"No, so explain it to me Tony, don't just walk away."
"She left because we got into a fight, mom and dad were on a business trip, the two of us were home, and she lost control. I yelled at her for it since she had a certain ability to control and create water, and she filled the entire house. If I hadn't opened a window she would have killed us both, but I told her how dangerous she was, and she left the next day. A few weeks later we received word that she wasn't at work anymore, and she hadn't been seen in two weeks. We never found her until we heard she was dead, mom and dad left two days later and died," he finished as I looked into his brown eyes.
"It wasn't your fault," I said as he looked at the floor.
"I'll get you a flight to Malibu, pack what you're going to take, and I'll keep the rest in your room," he said before walking away again, leaving me in the middle of the empty hallway. I walked back to the kitchen, sitting at the table everyone was sitting around, and sat in the only chair left between Clint and Bruce before putting my head in my arms, and just sitting there listening to conversations.
"So you're going to Asgard huh," Steve asked a few hours later as I worked on packing my things back into boxes, holding my prom queen crown in my hands as tears fell from my eyes.
"Yeah, I don't really want to, but maybe Tony's right, maybe it is best," I said, forcing a smile as Steve walked towards me, wiping the tears off my face.
