Anya opened her eyes and found herself in in a cell. Looking around she saw that there nothing but metal, metal was all she could see every corner of the room had it. She didn't remember how she came here. The last thing she recalled was hiding out in one of the many abandoned facilities thanks to the Avengers leaking information about Hydra.
She had chosen one that still had enough electricity for basic usage, such as food and showers. She didn't need anything beyond that, anything more would have helped them found her, and that was something she didn't want.
A groan sounded from behind her. Laying in a heap was Natalia. Hissing at her own pain, Anya crawled towards the mass on the floor and stroked the woman's flaming red hair which caused her eyes to fling open, and a fist swing. Dodging the hit, Anya hummed at her, calming her instantly.
"Hello Natalia."
Natasha froze her eyes widening when she focused enough to recognise her. "Anya, what are you doing here?" she whispered.
Anya shrugged her shoulders, looking around the room again. "Not sure. Don't remember anything besides getting ready to sleep for a few hours before heading off to another abandoned building. What about you?"
Natasha sat up, leaning her back against the wall. "We were getting the cradle. The last thing I saw was Barnes fighting Ultron along with Steve."
The mention of her brother and James caused Anya to whip her head back at the woman. "They are okay?"
Natasha nodded, "It would take a lot more than a murderous bot to take down those boys."
Anya smiled at the woman, agreeing with her statement. Natasha smiled back before tears came to her eyes and she coughed to clear her throat. "Speaking of Barnes and Steve; they don't hate you nor blame you. They need you."
Anya shook her head, "No they don't. Not when they have you and the rest of the Avengers. James will learn to love you again; I doubt the love ever left."
Natasha hung her head in shame, "There was never love in the first place."
Anya looked confused, unsure of why the woman was bringing the past up. Her statement also confused her, how wasn't there love? The Winter side of James' tortured double persona made him, and the Soldier betray her. That had to have been love.
Seeing her confusion Natasha rushed to explain. "Barnes nor the Soldier ever loved me."
"Maybe not, but Winter did." Anya told her softly.
Natasha raised a brow. "Winter?"
Anya nodded, "James has three sides. James, The Soldier and Winter. Winter loved you enough to risk his life in the Red Room."
Shaking her head again, Natasha's memory went back to that day. "I spoke his command words. I had overheard one of your handlers talking about them. I found out that he would do anything you told him to, so I spoke his words and made... made... I ordered him to have sex with me in plain sight hoping you would see."
Anya went pale and quiet. Then she looked up and saw how much the past was eating at the other woman. Nodding she spoke, "And now?"
Natasha looked back up at the Anya's calm voice. "I never loved him, only lusted for him. I finally found love; and its with your brother."
Anya was surprised. She thought that Steve would die a virgin thanks his shyness. "That's good. Treat him right."
Natasha was even more astonished. "You are okay with us being together?"
Anya nodded, "Yes, not that you are yet though." With her admittance about James, Anya had instantly searched her mind and found the feelings she felt for Steve were the purest of forms. They would be good for one another.
