Bucky and Steve sat next to the bed that seemed to be Anya’s personal hospital cot. Bucky was seriously considering making a name tag and everything. Shuri had already came by and checked up on the woman but couldn’t find anything wrong.
The two men were getting worried; she had been exhausted the day she woke up despite being asleep for a week. They were worried something was wrong.
“What about if Wanda took Shuri in like she did you?” Steve asked watching as Bucky paced the length of the room for yet another time, biting at his already non-existing nails.
Bucky looked up and nodded, “It may be the only way, but I want to go with.”
Steve smiled already expecting that demand. Looking down he saw that it was lunchtime, so he wasn’t going to argue as Bucky grabbed his phone that was beside him on the bed and frowned at the screen, still unsure on how to operate the device.
Chuckling softly Steve took his phone back and dialled Wanda’s number. The duo waited with abated breaths till the Scarlett witch picked up.
Bucky stood close by; he could hear Wanda on the other end of the phone, but his eyes never left Anya’s prone figure.
There was a slight wait, one that Bucky filled by pacing again, his feet burning holes in the ground until the door opened and the sound of Pietro grumbling about being hungry filled the room. “I wanted lunch, why are we here?”
Bucky rolled his eyes, “Вам не нужно было к нам присоединяться.”
The other man just threw him a glare as he and his sister made it into the middle of the room. Wanda looked tired, there were bags under her eyes, and she couldn’t stop yawning. Waving off their concerned looks she walked over to where Anya laid.
“What happened?”
Steve sighed, “We told her about our reasoning of being here in the first place. She collapsed.”
Wanda nodded and looked around, “Let me guess you want me to connect with her like I did on the jet?”
Bucky stopped pacing and came to stand next to them, his eyes searching for Shuri who was leaning against the wall looking down at her tablet, her fingers darting across the screen. “Yes, but like you took me last time, me and Shuri need to talk to her.”
Wanda’s eyes widened. “I’ve never done that before. Last time was a fluke, I still don’t know how I achieved that.” The group sighed with disappointment but the groan that came from the bed brought smiles back to their faces.
Anya sat up rubbing her eyes, reminding Bucky of how the twins looked when they were younger. Innocence, loyalty were two emotions that were always found in both of their eyes.
She turned around and smiled at the group, her eyes narrowing when they landed on Bucky. He gulped wondering what he had done but pushed that thought away as she moved off the bed, her legs wobbling as she made her way to where they were.
Bucky stepped away from the others and met her halfway.
Holding her to him, he breathed in her scent smiling as she rolled her eyes and hugged him back. “You will need to go back into cryostasis. That is the only way Shuri will be able to fiddle around without harming you.”
