Handling the Flame-Shoes

Luna slipped her foot into the black shoe. She stood up, grabbed her other shoe, and slipped it on. "Woah," Luna murmured as she stood up. It felt as if she was flying. 

Isabella checked her shoes and nodded. "Very well." Then she led Luna to another secret room.

This room had more light, and Luna could see that the room is wide and tall. "Now, say, 'fly!'" Isabella instructed. Lime came behind her, ready to see Luna fly.

"Okay! Fly!" Luna said, and immediately the shoes blasted out fire and Luna flew up. "Gah!" Luna cried, looking at Lime and Isabella, who were standing below. 

Isabella yelled, "you're doing good! Now try to stop, and stop midair!" 

Luna concentrated, she was still going up. She was going to hit her head on the ceiling- no! Obviously, no one wants their head to be cracked open, right? Luna immediately stopped midair, and her head was just a few inches away from the ceiling.

"Great job! You know why you stopped?" Isabella called.

"Why?" Luna called back.

"Because your instinct would never want you to hurt yourself! That is why you stopped!" Isabella winked and gave her a big thumbs up. "Now try to descend slowly!"

Luna took a deep breath and closed her eyes, and thought of herself sinking down slowly. She opened her eyes and saw herself descending. 

"Great! Now try forward, back, left, right!" Isabella said.

Luna moved forward, back, left, right. 

"Perfect! Now try flying in a circle!"

Luna moved in a circle.

"Now try coming down and landing in front of me!" 

Luna landed.

When Luna looked at Isabella again, she saw that Isabella was crying, but she had a huge smile on her face. "Wow, I have never met a child that could handle the Flame-Shoes on her first try!" 

Luna beamed. "Thank you!" 

Lime whispered to her, "Great job!"

Soon, Luna was back in the room with the other members. 

Isabella called, "This girl, Luna, has passed the test! Now she is a Dragon Troop member!"

Everyone yelled, "Luna! Luna!"

Luna felt tears running down her cheek. She had fulfilled her dream: Becoming a Dragon Troop Member!
