"So are we just not eating turkey?" Emerson asks, scrambling eggs. Both her parents decided to go to Milan for thanksgiving, so she's spending it with my family. We decided to stay at her parent's place for 2 days since Keagan took my room, so neither have to share the couch. Isa was supposed to fly in with us, but she decided to have her dad just fly out to her, and they'd spend thanksgiving there.
"We are, just let me finish getting ready." I say, brushing out my hair.
"You've been saying that for 2 days and thanksgiving is literally tomorrow." She says, plating the eggs and placing them in front of me.
I sit down and start to eat, "I already asked Blake from the market to save us one. Stop whining."
"When?" she says, sitting across from me. As I take a bite of the eggs, I wince.
Why did I think it was an excellent idea to let Em cook?
"What?" she says, looking at me weirdly.
"Dude, how'd you manage to mess up eggs?"
"It can't be that bad." she says, grabbing a piece off my plate. She cringes, spitting it out. "WHY DOES IT TASTE LIKE BANANAS?" She coughs out.
"I don't know, I didn't make it." I laugh, "C'mon, let's go grab ourselves a turkey."

As we walk down the jam-packed aisle, I look to Em. "Is there anything else we need?"
"I think we are okay, but let me go grab more butter to be safe." she says, slightly jogging away from me. I wander down the aisles, trying to find something to do.
As I turn the corner, I abruptly stop, trying to not hit someone. "Hey," they say breathily.
"Nate?" The deja vu is hitting me like a truck from the first time we saw each other.
"Uh, Hi." he waves.
"Hey," I mumble.
"When did you get into town?"
"Flew in like 2 days ago," I say, trying to act like I'm looking for something.
"Oh cool. We flew in yesterday." Nate says awkwardly.
"We?" I ask, raising a brow.
I knew he would come into town, but I didn't think he was coming with someone else.
"Uh, yeah." he says, rubbing the back of his neck. He speaks nervously. "A few of the boys and I. We just thought it'd be smarter to fly in together instead of separate."
"Oh, that makes sense."
"KIR, THEY ONLY HAVE LOW FAT." Emerson says, running up to me and placing the massive block of butter in our cart. "That should be fine right?"
She looks up to see Nate, "Hello Nathan."
"Hey Emerson." he says, letting out a breath.
"Can you leave?" she swats, pushing him further away from him.
"Emerson, are you ever just going to civil with me?" he says, surrendering his hand.
She crosses her arms, "Yeah, when I'm dead. Then maybe, I won't haunt you, but until then, no. So please leave us alone."
