10 years later...

"ZACH! GET YOUR ASS DOWN HERE." I yell throughout our house. The late summer afternoon makes the home more bright than usual.

I hear footsteps on the stairs. "Beautiful, there's a baby present." Zach says, bringing down our beautiful daughter. He's jokily covering her ears as he passes her to me.

"Hi lovebug." I kiss her nose, "Hi." I reply, kissing him.

"When are the boys getting here?" I ask him, toying with my necklace.  The charm on it is the promise ring he gave me that he did, in fact, end up replacing with a wedding ring. He proposed 4 years later in his backyard with chocolate-covered strawberries.

"I don't know. All I know is Jack is supposedly very adamant manning the grill." He replies, pulling his phone to check.

"I thought that's what I'm here for." Keagan says, coming into the kitchen to join the conversation.

Laila rolls her eyes, "You're telling me, we flew out from New York for barbecue."

"You know, it's not everyday you get to meet your niece and then get to meet your favorite band who are officially two time grammy winners." I say, cutting up watermelon.

The boys are celebrating winning their 2nd grammy, so after throwing an absolute rager, why don't we still does well, we decided that we wanted to have a small get-together, just our little family.

"They were my favorite band. Stuff changes the second you got the last name Herron and I had to deal with Corbyn's whining the whole wedding." Laila says, grabbing a piece off the cutting board.

Keagan quickly comes to his defense, "He was not whining the whole wedding."

"You're just saying that because you were whining equally the same amount. Stupid football game." She mutters under her breath.

"Baby, it was hockey." Keagan says, snickering. "The Rangers, our home team, lost the game that could've gotten us the Stanley cup after 27 years."

"Whatever." She reaches to the cutting board and tosses a seed at him.

He holds up his hands in defense, "It was a hard loss for us."

"Yeah, it was also your sister's wedding." Emerson says, coming out from the backyard. "Grill is cleaned and prepped by the way."

"Don't get me wrong, love my sister. But of course, Zach just HAD to join our family." Keagan rolls his eyes sarcastically.

"Correction, you joined mine," Zach says, grabbing Nouri from me. We had decided on her pops' name because even though I couldn't have my dad's name, we wanted her to at least have a piece of him. So thus, Nouri Herron was born.

"You're lucky I like you Herron." Keagan says, dapping him up.

"Is there ever a time you're going to stop saying that?" Zach smiles as the doorbell rings. "I'll go grab it."

"Hey, c'mere." I say as he walks towards me, toddler in hand. I kiss him, "I love you."

"I love you more." He kisses me back before striding off to the door.

The End.
