Chapter 23

Opening my eyes, I glanced at Noah. The morning sun reflected off of his celestial face. His eyes were steady on the road and I sat up. He turned to me and gave me a lopsided grin. "Yuletide greetings." he said making me laugh. "Merry Christmas." I smiled.

"We should rest for the day. It's Christmas, screw the night riders." Noah smirked. "Some ones a little cocky." I raised an eyebrow. "If that vile man in the alley-or anyone tries to hurt you, hell will break loose."

I laughed, "that's reassuring."

"where are we anyways?" the suburban environment around us was transmuting into an urban landscape. "Thought it'd be a suitable destination for Christmas." Noah seemed happy with himself. "I don't like surprises." I warned. "Trust me."

He laughed. And that's when I saw water emerging, and out on an island stood the statue of liberty. "New York City!" I scoffed. I had always dreamed of coming here. This is where my mother was born. I clung to the window, pressing my hands against it. "Noah you are incredible." I sighed as we approaches the city, the busy traffic slowing down. "I try to be." he grinned. Condensation built on the window and I wiped it away, getting a view of the city. The tall buildings, the bridges, the atmosphere. I adored New York.

We had arrived in downtown and parked in a garage. I changed into the fanciest thing I bought inside the car, insisting Noah to not look. I could see him glancing in the rear view mirror though, which made butterflies stir inside of me. "Noah." I glared. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry! Look." he put his hands over his eyes and I exhaled. I changed into the only dress I bought. A cream colored dress that hugged my body, stopping above my knees. A small leather braided belt went through the middle. I smelled myself. I smelled like peaches, since that was the kind of shampoo I used at the hotel we stayed at. I put on a pair of cheap black flats and combed through my knotty hair. "Open your eyes now." I laughed and he turned to look at me. "Damn you look hot." he smirked, making me blush. He smiled, I knew he liked it when I blushed. "I'll change too." Noah and I traded positions. I tried not to look but found myself taking quick glances. It was hard to resist keeping my eyes off of that physique of his. I glanced once again and he noticed this time. His shirt was off and my eyes wandered to his abs. "No peaking." he teased and I turned around facing forward, biting my lip. Gosh, Noah was hot. "Done."

I looked at him, he looked amazing. He had his hair brushed, his beard was prickly, coming in. It was manly and attractive. "Wow." I said through my lips. He wore dark washed jeans and a white muscle shirt( I had picked out ;) and his light brown leather jacket over top. An ordinary outfit, but on Noah it looked like he just came from a photo shoot. He had his new Nike sneakers on. "You look sharp!" we got out and I fixed the collar of his jacket, his breath washing over my face. His eyes scanned my dress, and locked with mine. With one hand he grasped my waist. His green eyes glistened. "I love you." he leaned in a whispered in my ear, nibbling on the edge of it, and making a trail to the bottom of my lip where ours brushed together in unison.

Those three words. I had never imagined hearing them, and here I was, kissing Noah. I stopped for a second to respond. "I love you Noah."

His eyes were intense as he caressed my face. The kissing got heavier, full of passion. I didn't care how young we were; I loved Noah Howard and he loved me. That's all that mattered. I slid his jacket off, revealing the muscle shirt. He quickly took off his shirt and I placed my hands onto his chest. His arms wrapped around me, our bodies pressed together. He stopped kissing and just looked at me intently. I felt his hand brush against my back as he started to unzip my dress, slowly. A sprout of desire ran through my body as I let out an uneven breath. His hand was on my bare back, making it's way down.

"Excuse me! This is a public area." a man appeared, crossing his arms. Noah's hand stopped and he just kept his eyes on me. "Sorry sir. We're going."

The man nodded and left, I assumed he worked there. Damn him! He ruined the moment..Though that's when I realized we were in a parking garage and sighed. I laughed, despite my disappointment as I heard the man mumble "Kids these days.." I was eighteen, thank-you-very-much. Noah laughed and zipped my dress

back up, and put his clothes back on. We connected hands and got out of there, bursting in laughter and he went in to kiss me. "Noah-later." I sighed, not wanting another incident. "You frustrate me." Noah scowled.

The the day in the city was amazing. There was a fresh coating of snow on the ground and the sky was blue. Noah knew his way around- he had been here for a wedding before. He took me around Central Park, Times Square, and streets. I enjoyed the livelihood of the city. It made me feel like something bigger, unlike Fishhead's which felt constricted. It literally was a breath of fresh air.

Night came and Noah led me to Rockafeller Center. We approached the massive tree, scattered with an immense amount of golden lights, ornaments, and garland. I gasped. "Wow, this is huge." I admired. "I have a gift for you." he fished through his pocket.
