Walking into school, my body trembled as my knuckles had gone white clutching onto my backpack. Denise stayed by my side as I attempted getting my locker open. After a few shaky tries, I got it open, shoved my bag in, and grabbed my notebooks. Denise was still at my side. Don't get me wrong, I thought Denise was nice but I wasn't in the mood for someone on my tail. "So I'll see you later." I said walking to biology, the first class of the day. She gave me an unsure smile, but just gave my arm a squeeze and walked away. I was thankful to have atleast one person there with me. I kept my head down, walking to class. I was a half hour late and didn't have an excuse. This was going to be great. Down the hallway and to the right I entered the biology room, a room with so much vegetation I couldn't see out the windows. "Ah, Miss.Sage." a young woman with honey blonde hair and hazel eyes flashed her bright teeth. I had a feeling she was a teacher that all of the guys had crushes on, she looked only five years older than me as a senior. "Sorry I'm late." I mumbled. "Why are you late?" she asked as the class stared on with wide eyes. "Car trouble." I shrugged with a sheepish smile. "Oh sorry to hear that. Take a seat, your table partner will catch you up." she smiled. I looked around and saw a skinny, apple colored wavy hair, glasses, nerdy looking kid without a partner and sat next to him. I had the feeling he didn't talk much, so I was thankful for that. "Hi. I'm Stanely Bowers." he glimpsed briefly. "Annabelle." I nodded. He handed me his notes and that was the most interaction we made the whole time. I mostly took notes, for something to do whilst I tried figuring out what had
happened out on the road. The bell rang and the next few classes were uneventful. Mostly the same as the previous day, people being overly nice and walking or talking with me.
Periods came and went and I had gym with Denise and she invited me to her house after school so we could talk. I agreed, she deserved some sort of explanation of what happened. When the last bell rang, I walked to my locker too see Noah standing in front of it, nonchalantly. He had the leather jacket on and his eyes wandered around, not realizing I
was approaching. When I appeared in front of him, he seemed startled but quickly recovered, looking relaxed again. "Can I open my locker." I asked unable to actually look him in the eye. He sighed and moved a locker over, one arm on it. As I opened my locker, i looked at him for the first time. Extremely good looking. "What do you want?" I asked grabbing my pack. "An explanation." he scoffed. "For what?" I asked, even though I knew
exactly what he meant. "You know." he closed my locker when I was done. I raised an eyebrow and started walking, but he quickly caught up to my side. "Annabelle, something happened out there. Whatever it was, I want to know." he replied. There was a long pause and I finally spoke as we stepped outside. I stopped on the steps and he stood facing me, his eyes intense. "I honestly don't know. I thought I saw someone." I replied. He sighed and shoved his hands in his pockets and took a step towards me, causing me to shiver, and not because of the cold weather. "I know it was more than that. You seemed, I don't know. You seemed-broken." he whispered. I felt tears but held them back. "I need to go." I blurted and and I started walking away. I felt something grip my arm and saw it was Noah. "I'm sorry I just wanted to figure it out." he scratched the back of his neck. "I know. I'll talk to you later." I said and let go, leaving him in the dust.
