I laid in bed, staring up at the ceiling, rethinking it over and over. The kiss was so beautiful, I found it hard to believe Noah had cheated. What had that girl been doing there? We were in the middle of nowhere. The phone rang. I picked it up, a tear escaping my eye. "Hello?" I asked. "Annabelle. It's Noah." his perfect good for nothing voice came on. I was about to hang up. "Wait, don't hang up. Please." he begged. I lingered, waiting to hear what he had to say. "What." I replied, crossing my legs. "I'm sorry I shouldn't have done that." he said. "Yeah kiss me and then have your girlfriend walk in." I reminded. I heard him sigh through the phone "What, you think I regret kissing you? I should have told you I had a girlfriend." he replied, a tenseness to his tone. "I know you regret it. And damn well you should have mentioned her." I said sharply. "I was going to break up with her, I had been wanting to for a while. She's a stalker, that's why she showed up there." he replied.
"Noah-I can't deal with you right now.." I said. "You felt it. I know you did in that kiss." he stated. I breathed sharply, and hung up, knowing it was true. He didn't try calling again and I drifted into an uneasy sleep full of unnerving thoughts.
School that day I tried my best to avoid Noah. Which wasn't hard, I barely saw him and when I did, I'd look the other way, feeling his eyes on me. In studyhall I went to the library. I would just do my homework there, away from his prescence. I saw the door open. I kept my eyes on the paper, praying it wasnt Noah. I guessed wrong. He must have followed me. I clenched my fists and ignored him as he sat across from me, his intense gaze fixed on me. I halfway looked up at him. "What do you want." I asked coldly. He didn't l say anything, he just kept his eyes on me. The familiar butterflies came, as I tried desperately to push them out. "Seriously." I glared, looking up at him fully. "Look- I know you don't want my apology-" he said. "I know." I nodded. "But can't we atleast talk?" he asked, in a hushed tone since the librarian shot us a warning glance. "We are now." I said scribbling down answers to economics. He leaned in and I found it hard to keep my composure. "I can explain." he whisperesd. I gave a hollow laugh. "Im being serious about this." he glared. "You don't need to explain..Noah. Think before you act." I advised. "Fine. I won't explain. Have good day Anna." he glared again and left, as everyone stared as he slammed the door. I bit my lip and stared at his empty seat and breathed out. So now we were both mad at eachother. I talked with Denise and she hadn't mentioned anything about it, so she didn't know. The days end approached and I was walking to my lockers. Oh no. Jason's eyes were angry as he approached me. I could skip my locker. I started walking faster through people. I received a few hellos from people I didn't recognize and I reached outside practically in a run. I dared a look behind my shoulders. I had lost him. I felt a bump and fell to the ground. Stupid people. I looked up and saw it was a guy I didn't recognize. He was good looking. He had light brown hair and deep brown eyes. He held out his hand and pulled me up. "Thanks." I said and brushed off my clothes. "No problem, youre Anna?" he smiled. "That would be me." I nodded. He held out his hand. "Austin Drake." we shook hands. I smiled. "Nice meeting you." said. "You too." he nodded and watched as I walked to the Jeep. I wasn't interested.
