A heart monitor slowly beeps.
Tevin awakens. He sees a bright light and hears chatter in the room. He touches the knot wrapped in a bandage on the side of his head, and it stings.
His parents are in their police officer uniforms next to his hospital bed. "M-mom. D-dad," Tevin says.
"My baby has woken up," Mrs. Jenkins cries.
"I'm so glad you're okay, son," Mr. Jenkins says.
"You guys are alive," Tevin mentions.
Mr. Jenkins and Mrs. Jenkins look at each other.
"Tevin, what in the world are you talking about?" Mr. Jenkins asks.
"You both died in The World of The Fairies," Tevin replies.
"Baby, the police found you at the bottom of Fairy Rock. You must have hit your head on something. Did you try to harm yourself?" Mrs. Jenkins questions.
Tevin touches the bandages on his head again. "I did jump off Fairy Rock. The last thing I remember is you all dying, and I killed Queen Vanessa. Then Spencer, the Demon Ghost King, got away from the Angels. Where is Serenity? Where is Sparkle? Where am I?"
Tevin surveys the room. He looks at the ceiling, then down at the leather chairs near the window, giving an excellent view of the full moon outside. "Where am I?"
"You are in the hospital. The police found you in the Fairville Woods, and the ambulance took you here," Mr. Jenkins says.
"I'm in Fairyville," Tevin says.
Knock. Knock.
Richard and Susan walk in as Mrs. Jenkins opens the hospital door, wearing their favorite black jean outfits.
Tevin stares at Richard. They're alive; Richard's chubby again. Susan looks the same as I remember her. How?
"Hey buddy, are you okay?" Richard asks.
Tevin buries his hands in his face as he wails, "I'm so sorry that I jumped off Fairy Rock, and I got everyone in the town killed."
"What are you talking about?" Richard asks.
"You didn't get anyone killed, baby. Everyone is alive and healthy," Mrs. Jenkins replies.
"Queen Vanessa and the other fairies killed everybody except Serenity and me," Tevin cries.
"Richard, you shouldn't have given this kid any weed. He's tripping," Susan mentions.
"Where's Serenity? Is she alive? Did she make it back to Fairyville?" Tevin asks.
"Serenity is alive, and she never left Fairyville, buddy. You just had a nightmare, that's all," Richard states.
A tall, hefty doctor enters the room, holding a clipboard with Tevin's diagnosis. Susan turns her head to keep from peeking at his curly black hair and smoothly combed beard. "Hello, Tevin; my name is Dr. James Milton. How are you feeling?"
"Was this all a dream?" Tevin asks.
"Is he going to be okay? He believes he went somewhere called The World of The Fairies," Mrs. Jenkins mentions.
"He took a nasty fall off the boulder and bumped his head. He has a mild concussion, but he should fully recover with a bit of bed rest," Dr. Milton responds.
"Well, that explains his delusions," Mr. Jenkins voices.
Dr. Milton rubs his silky beard. "Well, they give you police officers crappy insurance. I don't want you to have to pay a high medical bill. He is fine enough to go home. Just make sure that he rests."
