Tevin observes the empty rum glasses around Sparkle's Treehouse. He puts his jacket back on, trying to stop the chill bumps on his arms as the weather gets colder.
"Where did everyone go? Where is Serenity? Should I change back into Rock so she won't be mad at me?" Tevin asks.
Mrs. Jenkins touches her son. "No, you need to be yourself, Tevin."
Sparkle is on his shoulder, scanning the area of her residence. "Tevin, I'm finding pixie dust, ogre footprints, dragon scales, and dark wolves' fur all over the branches of my tree. They must be in Fairyville," Sparkle says.
"What do you mean?" Tevin asks.
The young fairy holds her head down. "Mother must have gone to Fairyville to take over the town, and she will make the humans her prisoners. I like you, Tevin. Hopefully, she will spare you."
Suddenly, the mist of the world turns grayer, interfering with Tevin's vision. A hoard of yellow portals open, and Tevin hears people piling all over Sparkle's giant tree.
"Where am I? How did I get here?" one of the residents asks.
"What is this place?" another resident asks.
"Is this the afterlife?" a third resident asks.
Tevin squints at his father, observing him with his hand on his gun holster.
Mr. Johnson grabs his wife by the hand. "I have you, honey."
"Richard! Are you here, son?" Mrs. Johnson cries.
"We are all going to be fine, everyone. God is going to protect us," Mrs. Jenkins says.
More people rain down out of portals from the sky. Some residents are dead; others have broken their legs from the fall.
"Oh no, what have I done," Tevin cries.
He sees women and men feeling their way through the fog, bumping into each other as they can barely see.
"Is that tree black?" a man asks.
In a moment's flash, another portal opens. Queen Vanessa flies out with the many other fairies. The queen releases her aura, and her skin and bones stretch as she grows seven feet tall. Her purple dress and wings match her body as she creates her trademark thunderstorm in the dark sky.
"It's my mother," Sparkle announces.
The fairy queen hoovers around the townspeople in the tree as they huddle together.
"Men and women of Fairyville. This world is your new home. You will now be my prisoners and servants. You will work until I tell you to stop. If you disobey, I will kill you."
People scream as they try to find a way off the tree.
"Officers use the rest of the ammunition we have to defend everyone against the fairies,"
A police captain commands.
Mr. Jenkins and Mrs. Jenkins pull out their handguns.
"Tevin, wait here. Your mother and I are going to join the other cops and bring down the queen," Mr. Jenkins says.
"I love you, son," Mrs. Jenkins says.
Tevin's parents run towards the sound of other police officers.
"Your weapons will not work against my mother," Sparkle mentions.
Tevin puts his hands over his freckled face. "I didn't mean for any of this to happen. I just wanted to be with Serenity."
