Tevin is speechless as Serenity mean-mugs him.
She grabs him by the collar of his shirt and slaps him. Tevin stumbles into the muddy, yellow pebbles behind him.
"You fooled me. How dare you?!" Serenity asks.
Tevin's lips quiver. Oh no, Serenity's mad at me. I didn't mean for this to happen.
"Who helped you, Tevin? Who helped you do this to me?!" Serenity screams.
"I-it was Sparkle," Tevin whimpers.
Serenity punches Tevin in his chest.
"Ouch," Tevin cries.
Susan and Sarah pull on Serenity's arm, attempting to separate her from him.
"Why did you do this, Tevin?" Serenity asks.
Tevin sobs. "I love you, Serenity. I believed the myth, and I jumped off Fairy Rock because I wanted the fairies to turn me into someone that you would like so that I could be your boyfriend."
Serenity pauses. "My mom and all the citizens of Fairyville who are stuck in this evil world. I don't know where my mom or most of my friends and relatives are because you decided to work with those evil fairies. You could have just asked me out."
"I thought that you would say no," Tevin mumbles.
Susan and Richard pick Serenity up, keeping her away from him, and Sarah grabs her angry friend's sword.
Tevin cries on Mrs. Jenkin's shoulder. "Mom, Serenity hates me."
Mrs. Jenkins hugs him. "Serenity is hurt right now; give her some time, son."
As the mist gets heavier, Elroy gathers the group. "There are fairies in the area. We must keep moving."
The group continues to travel through the valley, passing by many hills, and they enter the South Forrest. They approach the bottom of a yellow mountain. The group pushes a boulder out of the way and climb down a vine to the bottom of their lair. Mr. Johnson and Mrs. Johnson are sitting in the dark hole on a floor of black leaves in the yellow dirt near a fire, keeping Leon warm.
Mr. Johnson and his wife embrace their son, Richard. "You all made it back safe."
Several hours later, the group lay on the leaves by the fire as they rest their bodies.
Tevin hears Mr. Johnson and Mrs. Johnson talking about him.
Mr. Johnson whispers. "That Jenkin's kid is right here in my face. I knew him since he was a little boy. He and Richard were inseparable. I outta kill this punk. He is the reason why we are all here. I used to have a life of luxury. I drove a fancy Cadillac and lived in a big house. Now I'm living in a tiny hole in The World of The Fairies, hiding from monsters. Before Richard saved us. We survived by hiding in a bunker, eating bugs."
Mrs. Johnson snuggles up against her husband.
"Am I wrong for contemplating murdering that Jenkin's boy? I used to bake Tevin and our son chocolate chip cookies. Now I want to bake him. My relatives are somewhere in this world, probably slaves or dead because of this kid. I haven't had a proper manicure from my stylists in years. I miss my summer cottage. The heck this Tevin Jenkins," Mrs. Johnson whispers.
Tevin puts his hands over his mouth. Oh no, Richard's parents are mad.
He peeps at Susan, wrapping herself in her green robe as she finishes rolling a blunt as she conversates with Richard.
"Elroy's magic makes some good weed. Dang, everyone looks so mad at Tevin. I'm not that mad at him. I mean, I know that he didn't realize the fairies were evil. Yeah, I am stuck in this fairy world. I hope my family is okay, even though we never really got along. I don't want Tevin to die, but I do want to punch him in his mouth for having us stuck here," Susan whispers.
Richard puts his arm around Susan.
"I know Tevin like that back of my hand. He didn't mean for this to happen. As far as being in the World of The Fairies, I blamed him for it, but I forgave him. I have my parents, you, and these cool new fighting skills. I could be on Earth, taking college courses. I know that I'll get back to that life. For now, I'm worried. When the people of Fairyville find out what he did, people are going to hunt him down. I'm going to ensure no one harms him," Richard whispers.
Sarah writes in her notepad as she speaks with Serenity.
"I have never seen you that mad before. This Tevin guy seems very shy and mentally unstable. I can tell he is a nice guy by how his parents hold him. He needs some confidence in himself. I won't kill him because I think God wants me to write this story despite all the negative stuff going on here. I think it's my destiny to do so," Sarah whispers.
Serenity leans against the muddy yellow walls, fiddling with her saxophone and pressing the keys on it. "How can Tevin do this to me? Despite all this, I still love Rock. Does that mean I love Tevin too? I feel bad for hitting him. I know he cares for me, and somewhere inside Tevin, there is Rock. What do I do?"
Tevin listens to his father quietly chatting with his mother.
"Where did I go wrong with my son? I know that the doctors diagnosed him with what they think is Schizophrenia. He has delusions that Serenity is like a goddess. Maybe if I had got him more into sports than the books, he would be tougher. I love my boy and will protect him with my life," Mr. Jenkins whispers.
Mrs. Jenkins rubs Tevin's back, comforting him.
"Almighty God, please protect my son. In Jesus' name, Amen," Mrs. Johnson prays.
Tevin puts on the green robe Elroy gave him. "King Jesus, I'm sorry for making everyone mad at me and for what happened to everyone in Fairyville. Again, please free them all and get them home. Please help everyone, especially Serenity; forgive me. I love her so much. In Jesus' name, Amen."
