It's very foggy when Tevin opens his eyes. He struggles to see through it.
He gets up from a field full of grass, towering above his waist, and scratches his head. Am I dead? Am I in hell?
Tevin shuffles through the cool, thick, gray mist holding his arms together. He looks at the dark sky, and there's nothing but a burning orange star.
The trees, grass, and bushes are black as night. Why did I do that? I may never see my family again. I may never see Serenity again!
There is an array of bright purple lights heading in his direction from a group of tiny people the size of butterflies. The magical white wings on their backs are flapping, making them fly.
"Are those fairies? Aargh!"
Tevin runs in the other direction and hollers at the top of his lungs. He swings his arms and feels his way through the haze. He stops and stumbles as he nearly falls off the edge of a waterfall full of purple water. The ice-cold water splashes on his body, causing him to quiver.
"Somebody, help me!"
The tiny fairies fly around him and blow purple pixie dust in his face. He inhales the magical powder, and instantly his brain becomes woozy, and his tense muscles relax as he falls into a trance.
The powerful, pint-sized creatures grab and lift Tevin in the air, capturing him.
They fly him to a dark cave full of spikey, purple rocks with bats resting on the ceiling's stalactites.
They drop him in a shallow pond full of purple water. In the center of it stands the queen of the fairies. Her face appears mature as if she's in her fifties, and her expression is cold. The slender queen has a purple evening gown that matches the crown on her dark purple hair.
"Welcome to the World of The Fairies! You are in the West Forrest of this world. I am Queen Vanessa."
He raises himself out of the water, still feeling the effects of the calm buzz. "My name's Tevin."
"Why did you jump off Fairy Rock?"
Queen Vanessa spreads pink pixie dust into the air, sniffs some of it, and the substance causes her eyes to dilate. "The magical pixie dust tells me you're here because you desire a woman's heart."
"Her name is Serenity."
"You risked death to be with her."
"Can you help me?"
"Before I answer your question, let me give you a brief history of this cruel world."
Queen Vanessa flings green pixie dust in Tevin's face, forcing him to doze off. The stunning effects cause his mind to go blank, and he hears a crunching noise as a vision of a time when knights, horses, and peasants were living in the village of Fairyville forms in his head.
He sees an evil wizard named Gilbert III, dressed in a black cloak, raise his spell-binding cane in the air. A supernatural aura of dark magic energy seeps out of his body, infecting his rod.
A booming sound erupts, and a black laser shoots out of it, darting into the sky. The sorcery of power spins in circles, forming a hurricane that sucks the townspeople inside of it. The villagers scream, wailing for mercy as their skin burns, shrinks, and transforms into fairies. The witchcraft cyclone blows its mighty wind. It smashes houses and huts into millions of pieces and sends the poor citizens to The World of The Fairies, where they remain imprisoned.
Tevin snaps out of his nightmare with a heavy heart. "Those poor people."
The queen says, "Gilbert III put this heinous curse on us because of a gambling debt that King Thomas of Fairyville owed him. The wicked wizard went even further with his wrongful crime to protect his identity. He used his dark magic to disappear and removed all traces of the people he captured before the scholars found out what happened and could write about it in the history books. We could use your help, young man."
Tevin sways back and forth, trying to remain conscious. "Me? What can I do?"
"Fairies can't leave this world without a human. It's the rules set by this awful curse."
"I'm sorry!"
"I have a daughter named Sparkle. She's never left this place and seen Earth's beauty and wonders. If you could show her Fairyville, she will grant you any wish you want."
The queen commands the rather timid Sparkle to stand next to her. She is a puny teenage fairy wearing a red evening gown with a matching top hat that partially covers her face.
"Do not be afraid to go near him, my daughter. He is just as shy as you," Queen Vanessa says.
Sparkle slowly flies near him and becomes stagnant.
"Trust in your mother; he will not hurt you," Queen Vanessa says.
She floats onto his shoulder after realizing that he is still under sedation. "Um, Um, it's nice to meet you, Tevin."
"I never had a girl be this close to me."
"Oh my gosh! I've never been this close to a boy."
"Girls don't usually like me."
"I-I'm here to change that. W-what's your wish?"
Sparkle blasts pink pixie dust into Tevin's face.
"That's too much, my daughter!" Queen Vanessa shouts.
"S-s-sorry, I-I want to understand his desires," Sparkle says.
"Make me into someone Serenity would want to date," Tevin says.
Sparkle closes her eyes. "I-I must remember my t-training. P-please g-give me time to study your mind and your heart."
"Sparkle, concentrate on your magic," Queen Vanessa commands.
Sparkle sprays blue pixie dust all over Tevin.
The young fairy's eyes open wide with excitement as his body transforms. He grows four inches taller, and his arms widen, turning muscular. Black dreadlocks spring out of his head and down to his newly broad shoulders. A blue aura glows around him as blue smoke covers the entire cave.
Tevin is in awe of how much his hands have grown. He observes his robust legs and wonders how he's now wearing black Escada custom-made jeans with brown leather Louis Vuitton shoes. He feels on his muscle-bound, beefy chest as it sticks out through his brown silk shirt. "Is this my new body?"
"It's a temporary body, Tevin," Queen Vanessa says.
"Um, um, as long as I'm near you, you c-c-can stay in this body," Sparkle says.
"Are you ready, Tevin?" Queen Vanessa asks.
Tevin has a sensation of confidence he has never felt before. There is a rush of adrenaline pumping through his freshly built body. He flexes his muscles in multiple poses. Never in my wildest dreams have I ever felt so alive!
"Don't call me Tevin! Call me Rock!" he says.
Queen Vanessa claps her hands. "Sparkle, you did a fantastic job!"
"Let's go!" Rock shouts.
Sparkle puffs yellow pixie dust in the air and a static sound as it forms into an immense, beaming square yellow portal big enough for her and Rock. The two enter the portal and return to Fairyville.
