Selena, Benny, and Mitch are in Queen Vanessa's chambers. The room is pitch-black and hot. Purple energy gas surrounds the room, and purple steam emerges from the walls and the purple marble floor.
Benny analyzes a colossal painting of Queen Vanessa, Butch, Baker, Leon, Bernard, and Selena when they were pirates on the deck of a ship, covering the whole ceiling. In the center of the canvas is another face with a big nose, purple eyes, a mouth, and sharp, purple fangs. The eyes light up, and the mouth hisses and gags as it opens wide, letting out hundreds of shadowy ghosts.
"Winton, calm yourself," Selena begs.
Mitch and Benny scream, running for the exit, but Linus will not open the door.
The ghosts boo and whistle, flying across the room as they hide in the walls.
Mitch hollers and passes out.
Benny bangs on the sacred door. "Let me out of here."
He feels purple pixie dust going up his nose, putting him in a calming trance.
"Calm yourself before the queen," Selena says.
A tiny fairy sits in the back of the room on a miniature purple thrown near the king-size bed with purple satin sheets. She snaps her fingers, and the room lights up.
"Is that Queen Vanessa?" Benny asks.
"Yes, it is," Selena replies.
Queen Vanessa sits silently in her newly stitched, purple Renaissance dress.
Selena and Benny simultaneously chant. "All praise Queen Vanessa."
The fairy queen ignores them and appears to be talking to herself. "I have everything I ever wanted a beautiful castle, servants, power, and wealth. Yet, I am not happy. I always wanted to be a mother to an obedient child. Things are not the same since Sparkle is no longer my daughter. I miss her dearly."
Benny glances harder. Behind the queen stands a twenty-foot-tall shadowy spirit with dark red eyes named Spencer Unitas, The King of the Demon Ghosts. He floats around the queen.
"Your majesty, I sense that you miss Sparkle. Are you going soft?" Spencer asks.
"There is nothing wrong with missing your child," Queen Vanessa remarks.
Spencer roars and flies rapidly up and down the vast room. The mighty demon ghost king vents, vibrating the chamber and causing purple dust to fall from the ceiling.
Spencer returns to Queen Vanessa. "Sparkle was disobedient to you. Why would you miss her?"
"She is my child," Queen Vanessa says.
"You remember when you first came to this world. You were hungry and begging to survive. At the time, I told you I couldn't help you leave this world, but I could do something better. You let me and my demon minions possess you, and in return, I made you very powerful and gave you this world," Spencer says.
"Some believe dragon meat and a particular star are the secrets to the fairies' power. No one knows how many demons we fairies allowed to possess our bodies to gain this great strength. I even held this secret from my daughter, who'd been born with demon energy," Queen Vanessa cries.
Spencer's voice becomes raspy. "I am a demon and feed off, making my subjects evil. It's my rush."
"Spencer, why did my little girl have to be so disobedient to me?" Queen Vanessa asks.
"Sparkle was always loyal to you until she met Tevin Jenkins. He got into her head and changed her," Spencer responds.
He commands more ghosts to infiltrate the queen.
Queen Vanessa's eyes churn in the back of her head. "It's Tevin Jenkin's fault?"
"He has returned to The World of The Fairies. Make him suffer from what he has done," Spencer retorts.
Queen Vanessa twitches as her head and neck spin around in circles. Her jaw muscles twist and turn, leaving her face disfigured. A purple and red aura beams out of her body. The hair falls out of her head, and bloody, ivory horns inch out of the sides of her skull, making a popping noise. Her mouth widens, swallowing more ghosts, and she grows twelve feet tall—purple and red lightning flash in the room, destroying the walls and leaving rubble everywhere.
The queen's skin is purple, and her eyes are dark red. She turns her attention toward Selena, Mitch, and Benny.
"I no longer recognize Queen Vanessa. She is now a demon," Selena says.
Benny makes a run for it toward the sealed entrance again. "Help me!"
