Tevin stops embracing his family because of the erratic behavior of the clown.
Clown Ogre cannot stop pounding on his chest as the evil curse further consumes him. He jumps up and down, making the terrain quake.
Tevin loses his balance and falls, reinjuring his elbow.
The other members of the group keep their balance in the field.
A demon ghost appears out of Sycamore trees before the clown. "Let me help you," it says.
Clown Ogre opens his mouth and swallows it. Veins pop out of his head as he twitches.
The clown regains focus and raises his hand in the air, commanding the ogres and dark wolves to attack the group.
Wearing their magical green, glowing gloves Richard, Mr. Jenkins, and Mrs. Jenkins aim their bows at the monsters, charging at them.
Richard fires first and strikes a dark wolf with a flaming arrow. The enormous creature whines while burning up in flames.
Mrs. Jenkins aims her weapon at the head of one of the humongous ogres. "Elroy just trained us how to use these bows. My Lord almighty, I need your strength in Jesus' name, Amen.'"
She locks her bow onto the monster and shoots.
The arrows hit the ogre directly on the chin, and his face is in flames.
"Wow, Mom," Tevin says.
Mr. Jenkins directs his bow at a dark wolf, coming straight at him.
He fires, missing the black-furred monster as the arrow travels through the mist, snapping in half as it hits a red boulder.
"Oh bleeping, crap," Mr. Jenkins exclaims.
Mr. Jenkins swings his magical green bow and repeatedly smacks the dark wolf. The slobbery beast bites the weapon, attempting to pull it out of his hands. He takes an enchanted fire dart from his backpack and stabs the dark wolf. It whimpers, flapping its head uncontrollably as smoke and fire come out of its burning face. The dark wolf keels over and faints.
Serenity grasps her blade, and a shiny red light radiates out of it as a group of ogres jumps at her. She wields her sword and chops the arm off one ogre and the leg off another, leaving blood and ooze on her green cloak and the forest's orange dandelions.
In nearly a split second, she stabs three other wicked beasts and dives out of the way as the monsters collapse into the orange field of tall weeds.
Sarah slices the head off a dark wolf, splattering its blood.
An ogre comes from behind, grabs Sarah, and squeezes her until she can't breathe.
"Sarah," Serenity cries.
Susan runs out of the bushes, jumps, and slices its shoulder.
It lets Sarah go and punches its wound with anger.
Tevin cannot believe what he's witnessing. Who is this new girl? Are those elves? How did everyone learn to fight like this?
As the rain continues to pour down, Susan sticks her katana into the mud. She removes a joint from her robe, puts it in her mouth, and lights it.
The ogre charges at her, and she picks up the blade, piercing it in the stomach.
It leans down. Susan puffs on the reefer, blowing the marijuana smoke in its face.
The ogre dies in the pink weeds.
"Thank you for saving me, Susan," Sarah pants.
"Susan, is there a second, a minute, or an hour when you are not smoking?" Serenity asks.
"When I'm sleeping," Susan replies.
Tevin observes Elroy and the other elves finish off the remainder of the beast.
Clown Ogre is the last one left. He hunches over and clenches his muscles, attempting to increase his power, but Richard and Mrs. Jenkins strike him with flaming arrows.
The clown's buckles as his aura keeps his body from setting on fire entirely. He winces, pulling the hot arrows out of his biceps and thighs. Blood and slime come from his wounds, and his weakened body can no longer fight.
Through the pain, the clown stands up straight. Once again, he moves his feet up and down, tap dancing and smiling, showing his big yellow teeth. The group lowers their weapons.
"He is entertaining us and hoping that we spare his life," Elroy says.
Clown Ogre bows to the group.
"We can spare him; he won't return to Vanessa empty-handed," Melinda mentions.
"Like us, he is just trying to survive," Jason mutters.
Tevin goes near Mitch, lying in the ragweeds, bleeding and breathing slowly. "Please, guys, spare the wolf. He tried to save me earlier."
"He was another human turned into a dark wolf by the queen. We will spare him," Elroy replies.
The group leaves the area and travels through the rough terrain of the Central Forest. They walk through the marsh and follow the Pink River through the valley to their new temporary hideout.
"We should find Timothy, Lisa, and Leon soon as we are close to the base," Elroy states.
Tevin has his arms around his mother and father as Serenity approaches him. He feels giddy as she switches her curvaceous figure toward him. He blushes from seeing her beautiful brown eyes.
"Tevin, I'm glad you are okay," Serenity mentions.
"Thank you," Tevin says.
"We saw Rock flying in the sky. Have you seen my boyfriend?" Serenity asks.
Tevin's head drops, and he stares at the dark twigs and decaying grass below his feet. She still doesn't know that I'm Rock. Will she be mad at me if I tell her?
"Be a man, Tevin, and tell her the truth," Mrs. Jenkins says.
Tevin feels like time has stopped. I must tell her.
"I am Rock," Tevin mumbles.
"What? Speak louder. I can't hear you," Serenity commands.
"I am Rock," Tevin confesses.
Serenity drops her sword as a look of disbelief is on her face. "What."
