Thunder erupts. Kaboom! Kaboom!
Tevin awakens and yawns while folding his arms outside Sparkle's Treehouse.
He covers his shivering body from the cold, rainy weather with a specially made purple blanket given to him by Queen Vanessa. Richard was so mad at me. I feel so bad.
Queen Vanessa flies over to him with two fairy generals, Butch and Baker, in their full purple armor. They're identical twins with matching bald heads and brown beards.
"Do ya want something to eat, Tevin?" Butch asks.
"What do you have to eat?" Tevin says.
Baker pulls down on his goatee beard. "Do you like dragons, Tevin?"
"Dragons aren't real, are they?"
"In the World of The Fairies, they're quite real, and it is what we eat, lad," Butch replies.
Tevin feels nauseous, and his lips quiver. "Aren't they big and scary?"
"Do not be afraid! We fairies are highly skilled and can easily bring down a dragon," Baker says.
Tevin glances up at the black sky, trying to figure out why this world has no moon or sun. It is always dark and foggy in the World of The Fairies.
In a flash, fire covers the air giving off a blaze of heat.
"The dragons are coming!" Queen Vanessa shouts.
An enormous blue creature whose long body fills the sky soars toward the treehouse with its gigantic wings. Its vast teeth are more orange than the fire it breathes. The dragon's blue scales glow, releasing a black aura around it. It roars and makes a choking sound as it spits out a wave of fire that near touches Sparkle's Tree.
Tevin screams and runs into the black leaves to hide. He watches Butch and Baker bend their knees into a lunging position. The fairy generals rapidly flap their wings and take off.
Butch and Baker fly near the beast. The dragon roaring with rage, breathes fire at them, further filling the hot atmosphere with smoke. The two fairies maneuver around the flames as they bolt toward its dark red eyes.
Baker blows black, poisonous pixie dust into the monster's face. The toxic powder forces the dragon to gag and vomit, making its blue scales fall off its body. The three-hundred-foot-tall dragon falls from the sky, causing a thunderous thud as it crashes into the ground.
The treehouse rumbles as dirt flies in the air.
"Baker! You always get in my way of killing a dragon. Let me do it for bloody once," Butch commands.
"Shut your trap!" Baker exclaims.
Tevin sticks his face outside the wet, black leaves, sweating and processing what he has seen. The World of the Fairies is like nothing I ever imagined.
He turns his head in the direction of Queen Vanessa as she blows silver pixie dust into the air creating a shiny, silver sword that is sharp enough to cut through steel.
"Queen Vanessa, what will you do with that sword?"
"You need to speak up, Tevin."
Tevin raises his voice. "What are you going to do with that sword?"
"I'm going to cut up the dragon so we can feast on the meat."
"Why?"
"Dragon meat is one source of our strength and power. Eating it makes us stronger."
Queen Vanessa, Sparkle, and many other fairies fly out of their treehouse to feast on the meal.
Tevin balls his body into a fetal position. I don't want to die!
"Would you like some dragon meat, Tevin?" Sparkle asks.
Tevin gags at the burnt, blue meat and the grease dripping off it. He grabs his stomach and puts his hand over his mouth. That stuff looks disgusting and poisonous.
"Um, Tevin, I know you miss your family, and my mother said you will see them soon."
"Richard was mad at me too."
Sparkle drops her head and looks down.
Queen Vanessa arrives. "Are you still sad?"
"Yes!" Tevin says.
"Do you still not trust the Queen of the Fairies?" Queen Vanessa asks.
The queen eats a piece of dry dragon meat. She swallows it, and magical blue energy glows all over her body, tightening its muscle fibers. The sensation of power makes her eyes roll in the back of her head as she gets stronger.
"Tevin, how do you feel when you're Rock?" Queen Vanessa asks.
Queen Vanessa blows purple pixie dust in Tevin's face, and he becomes discombobulated.
"Um, um, mother, I've been giving him a lot of purple dust; he looks out of it," Sparkle says.
"Do not worry about it, my daughter," Queen Vanessa replies.
Tevin's body relaxes, and he is no longer crying. "I feel better!"
"I am like a mother to you, Tevin. Serenity will be in your arms soon. Your parents will be so proud of you," Queen Vanessa says.
Tevin smiles as he falls asleep.
