as kenma stared at akaashi's eyes, he found himself getting lost in the depths of them. maybe it was the high after their kiss, or was it their rain-soaked bodies pressing against each other that made kenma lose all rationale he had ever had and just stare into akaashi's eyes. he gazed into the endless vibrant abyss, and felt as if he was falling.

falling and falling and falling further.

a feeling of akaashi's strong hands wrapped around his waist, supporting his weight as his knees gave up on him was perhaps the only reminder that he was still standing on his feet, still there in his room, still... breathing.

as if on command kenma finally released the air he was holding in, he hadn't even realized that he was holding his breath until he thought about it. a small yet visible smile started forming on akaashi's lips, the corners of his lips curling just enough. "you okay? did i rush?" he asked, his voice velvet smooth as it traveled to kenma's brain, getting stuck there and echoing.

"no, no not at all... i'm just..." he trailed off, still unable to put the feeling into words. it's not like he hadn't kissed before, kuroo and he had been dating for years, sneaking in kisses there and there or full-on making out on the couch - but its different feeling when someone you love kisses you for the first time, passionately, without any guilt or a speck of fear - it's different.

he had forgotten what it feels like.

"we should dry ourselves, you know?" akaashi followed up, finally releasing his hands from kenma's sides and smiling at him, the other simply nodded, savoring the last moments of this significant moment. he struggled to get his shoes off, cursing under his breath as the laces seemed to have on purpose become entangled.

all meanwhile akaashi slowly explored the apartment, pleasantly surprised to see so many art pieces on kenma's walls. "are these some famous artist's work?" he asked as kenma finally emerged victorious, having won the fight against the shoelaces.

"oh no, all these are from my fans, ever since i moved here i opened up a po box for my fans to send me stuff, and... these are gorgeous" kenma marveled at the painting of a cat on a wall, fair to say the cat was holding a gun but that is beside the point.

"i can only respect your dedication to your work... though the rising amount of demands concerns me" akaashi added slowly, in a split second kenma could understand what he was talking about.

"it's nothing new..." he whispered as they approached yet another framed piece of art, their clothes still sticking to their skin.

"it still concerns me. the other day someone sent you a donation with the request, remember? they asked you to show them your feet" akaashi shook his head, some of the people were unbearable.

"yeah but i would rather deal with feet comments rather than others... some of them have been invading my instagram messages..." kenma said.

"... my god what have they been asking?"

"the usual. they say they will send me money if i send a picture of me topless, they will send me cash if i show them my private parts, they will fly me out for a luxury trip if i send them a video of me stripping... it's awful but... somewhat entertaining..." kenma's voice trailed off, the statement he made was met with a curious gaze.

"entertaining...?" akaashi repeated, now turning his full attention to the male next to him.

"how do... cam boys do it? how do bj's do it? they just get naked and... i could never do that but... " kenma once again trailed off, letting his fantasies run wild in his head. he had... tried filming a video of himself for kuroo once but the adrenaline he felt was simply, in his words, "too much for one person to handle".

though the desire to do it kept lingering in his head.

"ah, they're special. personally, it would be very hard for me to get into that kind of business" akaashi added. "wait, weren't we going to dry off?" he suddenly came back to reality, still feeling the damp clothes hugging his skin, rubbing against it uncomfortably.

"oh yeah, got sidetracked." kenma suddenly changed pace, happily walking into his bedroom and opening the closet with such force that the walls shook. "i have some clothes that kuroo left so you can use those."

"oh, nice!" akaashi held out his hands as kenma began piling clothes onto his hands. sweatpants that kuroo left behind a while back, socks (though akaashi didn't really need them), boxers from a pack of 'buy 5, get 1 free' that he got just in case.

"oh this shirt" kenma suddenly pulled a t-shirt out, examining it. "i bought this for kuroo but he said it was a bit too tight for him."

"should be perfect for me then" akaashi smiled.

"yeah, exactly. nothing goes to waste" kenma returned the warm smile and placed the t-shirt into akaashi's hands. "you can change here, i will go to the bathroom" he quickly muttered as he saw akaashi's hands already pulling the damp clothes away.

he scuttered into the bathroom, this time gently closing the door before making a sound akaashi could only label as 'happy shriek'. he quickly changed into the new set of clothes, leaving only boxers behind as his, as it turned out, were nice and dry.

the rain didn't seem like it was going to stop any time soon, the dark clouds stretched as far as akaashi could see - if anything they just seemed to be getting darker and darker. he wondered what the rain would bring, how this day would go, and would kenma really be satisfied with only cuddles.

from what kuroo had told him and from what he had seen, kenma would not and could never settle for just cuddles, no, kissing is a must. as he continued thinking, he felt a hand on his back. kenma had silently come back and was now staring out the window with him.

"it's hard to believe that... you are going to be staying over.." kenma felt akaashi's hand wrap around his waist.

"why is it hard to believe?"

"it seems like only yesterday i was talking to kuroo and we were both swooning over you, you who we thought would never come into our lives and our dynamic. and yet here you are. at my place. it's..." kenma trailed off, clearly flustered by the number of words that escaped his mouth.

"it does feel surreal... but it also feels like this is where i was always supposed to be" akaashi followed up, squeezing his waist just slightly.

the two admired the never-ending rain as the first lightning touched down. "now, let's go play some games" kenma suddenly said and grabbed akaashi's hand, dragging him to the living room. "i have plenty of games but since the weather is like this i think we should play a horror game"

"well count me in" akaashi chuckled.

the two seemed to be comfortable in each other's company but the storm was still brewing and who knows where the day will lead them...
