Akaashi sighed as he rolled on his other side, fluffing the pillow slightly as if it will help him fall asleep but to no avail. The dorm was unusually quiet and yet he could not doze off. It was a Friday night, usually, around this time the whole dorm would be shaking with music and people walking in and out of different rooms, every Friday was a party to them, every Saturday was a party to them, but a Sunday was the hangover day - the only day you could really study, but it was the long-awaited spring break and everyone had gone home. Apart from Akaashi and a few other people, of course, they either had family that lived far away or shitty parents.
In Akaashi's case, it was neither of those. His parents were simply busy this time of year and he didn't want to disturb them with his sudden appearance. His father was buried in his research material, the last time he called him the call lasted only half a minute, he told Akaashi he misses him and that he is on page 249 of his new research book, so who is Akaashi to interrupt his work?
As for his mother, she had started working at a kindergarten. He still remembers her calling him a few days ago just to say that she is so glad Akaashi is a grown-up - those little rascals were stressing her out, but damn she loves kids. The funny thing is that they live 15 minutes away from the city, yet they act as if Akaashi's studying abroad.
The more he thought about his family, the less sleepy he became, sucks to be him I guess. It must be all that coffee in his blood, the caffeine in his liver and his lungs, and his brain. It didn't matter how long Akaashi would stare at the ceiling and how many sheep he would count - his body didn't want to shut down and sleep, no, it wanted to update.
He heard his phone buzz on the counter, but he wasn't going to check it until it buzzed 5 more times in a row. Akaashi slowly opened his eyes, the electronic clock on the wall showed 02:46 AM. He could have gotten a nice, traditional clock to fit with his room aesthetic, but who even uses traditional clocks these days? Old people?
He reached out for his phone but ended up slapping the counter a bunch of times until he managed to find it. Good thing Akaashi had set his brightness on the lowest setting, but even that made him squint his eyes, and yet he smiled. His lock screen was that of his favorite character and Akaashi would gladly simp for them any day.
His finger hovered above the message icon, Akaashi had a feeling he knew who was texting him and he had no intentions of talking to him. At least not for now or tomorrow. Out of sheer curiosity, Akaashi clicked on the icon, chuckling at the fact that he was right.

What's up?You sleeping?
Can't sleep, I'm thinking about you
You looked sexy today
An unintentional groan escaped his lips as he sat up. This boy... he gets on Akaashi's fucking nerves. Why should he reply to him when he clearly called Akaashi disgusting today? Such an idiot, full of himself and full of pride - it's too hard for him to admit that he's gay or at least bisexual, but Akaashi's never seen him with a girl, to be honest. Even so, he still insulted Akaashi, he should be used to this by now, but mean comments still hit him from time to time, especially when they come from someone you like or someone close to you. Bokuto was neither of those, but as much as Akaashi hates to say this - sleeping with him is a great experience.
He put his feet on the cold floor and stood up, stretching, and cracking every bone in his body. Sometimes Akaashi wishes they would all just break and he could sue the university for physical and psychological damage, but maybe he should do it after he graduates and gets his degree. Akaashi still has a long way to go, get through the BA course, enroll into the MA course and finish it, then enroll into a doctorate course and get a Ph.D. - Akaashi must have gotten this habit of planning out his future from his father - he swears that man knows when the world will end.
He walked over to the lightswitch and brought light into his already bright room, another sigh escaped Akaashi's lips, however, he did not feel sleepy or tired at all, well at least not physically. Akaashi was mentally exhausted and the culprit of that was nonother than Bokuto Koutaro. He glanced at his phone and the messages he sent, he sure knew how to flirt with a desperate man like Akaashi, but he did it in the worst way possible. Another set of messages soon followed, he must have realized Akaashi would have seen the older ones by now, to him he was almost like an open book, too bad he had been staring at the cover this whole time.

I know you saw the messages, just reply
are you still at the dorm? I could come over
keep you company
or are you going to ignore me?
Akaashi groaned again, then laughed at how full of himself Bokuto was. What a fool, thinking he has it all laid out. He really thinks Akaashi will forgive him for everything and anything if he suggests spending an evening with him. They are nothing but a casual hookup, he should know his place.
To: Koutaro
stop annoying me
That is all Akaashi could say, anything more and Bokuto would come charging at his door, knocking until he lets him in, begging Akaashi to let him stay one more night so he could prove himself to him - this happened before. His comment today was the last straw, Akaashi's patience has its limits. He waited for months for him to come out, at least to his closest friends or even just Akaashi - he waited patiently for him to finally realize his true self, yet he denies it. Bokuto denies it and he insults Akaashi, even if he doesn't realize it.
Akaashi had enough of him, he had other people he could spend a nice evening with, those who wouldn't be afraid of being called out or caught by somebody. Bokuto went around everyone's backs, he lied to them and kept up his straight boy image. So he can keep pretending, Akaashi is moving on.
