Logan stepped into the small coffee shop, pleased to see that it was not as busy as the other one he had passed. It was not very loud, it was clean and cozy, and there was no line to the counter.

And it was warm, Logan had been unwise to forget his jacket as he rushed from home this morning. Even more so to forget his lunch. He'd been done teaching fairly early, but he was still starving, hence why he was stopping at this shop, having been tempted by the sandwiches they displayed.

"Hi, what can I get you?" The person behind the counter said with a cheerful tone. He had glasses similar to Logan's own and his name tag read 'Patton, he/him'.

The name caught his attention, one of his two soulmates was named that, but he shook his worry off. (What were the chances?)

"Hi, I'd like a coffee, no sugar, no cream, and one of those sandwiches." Logan said and pointed at the glass that displayed all the kinds of sandwiches and pastries and sweets one could buy at the shop.

"That'll be right up!" Patton said and swirled around to make his order, soon placing Logan's coffee and sandwich on the counter and telling him the total he had to pay. Logan reached for his wallet as Patton, who seemed to be quite an energetic person, drummed with his fingers against the counter, to the beat of the quiet music that was playing.

"Here you go." Logan said and handed him the money he owed, which the other man took with a surprisingly genuine-looking smile.

Then the man halted and gasped and at first Logan was terribly confused, at least until Patton dropped the money onto the counter and instead reached out for Logan's arm, grabbing him.

"That's Virgil's!" He exclaimed, pointing at the part of Logan's arm where one of his soulmates had drawn several purple, cartoon-ish spiders that his students had snickered at during class. And now Logan looked over at Patton, who was also wearing a short sleeved shirt, and realized he did have those same drawings on his own arm, paired with the light blue 'spiders are scary ):' that was written beneath.

"Oh." Logan said, feeling almost self conscious under the others excited gaze. Patton was grinning widely, looking as if his entire day had just been made.

Logan was a little too stunned to properly think, and he wasn't sure how he felt.

He'd just come here for lunch, not to be found by his soulmates, soulmates who he occasionally wrote to but had never made any effort to find after the other two had found each other a year ago.

"Oh my gosh, hang on, hang on." Patton babbled, grasping for a pen he had in his pocket and then, on Logan's arm, writing down a phone number in bright blue ink. Then he seemed to realize he was still holding onto his arm because he let go with a quick apology.

"Hi, I'm Patton and apparently you're my soulmate." He said, introducing himself. Logan pushed his glasses up a little, looking more properly at the person in front of him that was apparently his soulmate.

Patton had slightly curly hair that seemed to fall in his eyes now and then, part of it dyed a light blue similar to the one he wrote with. He was shorter than Logan was but seemed to be around the same age. He had freckles on his face and even down on his arms, many, many more than Logan himself had.

"My name is Logan, and yes that seems to be the case." He said. His soulmate seemed to be practically bouncing on his toes with excitement.

The door to the shop opened and Patton glanced behind Logan at the new customers, quickly gathering up Logan's money again and finishing the order.
