Logan knew he wasn't the first to get home from work, which is why the empty house puzzled him.
Virgil and Roman should both be home, if their shoes by the front door was anything to go by, but he had checked the living room, kitchen, and bedroom, and checked if the bathrooms were occupied (which they weren't).
Though the open back door to their porch gave Logan another idea, and sticking his head out of the door his suspicion was confirmed to be right. He stepped outside, smiling at the sight of two of his fiancés lying in the hammock.
Virgil was lying flat on his back, with Roman draped on top of him, face half smushed into Virgil's beloved hoodie, the setting sun hitting them and Logan stopped, just watching them. Roman seemed to be fast asleep and Virgil was playing with his phone, absentmindedly running his fingers through Roman's hair.
Logan took a step closer and Virgil glanced to his side, noticing him. His warm smile at the sight of him was the only welcome home that Logan needed.
Logan raised his eyebrows and glanced pointedly between Roman and Virgil. It wasn't very often that at least Virgil would be found outside.
"Isn't he pretty?" Virgil mumbled, eyes fixed on his sleeping boyfriend.
"He's drooling on your hoodie." Logan pointed out.
"Yeah." Virgil said, gazing at Roman utterly adoringly.
"...Yeah." Logan said in agreement, smiling a little at the two of them and kneeling on the porch the hammock was stood on.
"You're both very pretty." Logan leaned in to press a kiss to Virgil's chin, ignoring the mumbled protests. He pressed another kiss to his nose, then his forehead and his cheek and, when Virgil pouted, one to his lips. That always effectively removed any pout from Virgil, and it was no different this time.
"Had a good day?" Virgil wondered and Logan thought it over before nodding.
"My students have been on their best behaviour. How has your day been?" He wondered and Virgil shrugged.
"Been fine, better now that I'm home with you both." He said, hand slipping from Roman's hair in favour of pulling Logan in for another kiss. Roman mumbled something unintelligible, stirring slightly.
"What was that, Ro?" Virgil asked.
"I wan' kiss too." He mumbled again and Logan reached out to run his fingers through Roman's hair, pressing his lips gently to Roman's forehead. Roman made a quiet and content noise, looking very half asleep as he barely opened his eyes to look at him. Logan pressed a soft kiss to his lips, not needing a verbal question.
Roman reached for Logan, entwining their fingers, which definitely meant Logan wasn't supposed to be leaving his fiancé's sides anytime soon. Not that he wanted to.
"Are you done drooling and ready to get up and help me make dinner?" Logan wondered, reminding Roman of the fact that he had promised to assist him this evening.
"I don't drool." Roman said, sitting up slightly and peering as the sun hit him in the face.
"Uh huh, what's this then?" Virgil grasped Roman's hand and pressed it to the wet spot on his hoodie. Roman blinked a few times.
"That wasn't me." Roman said then and slipped off of Virgil who pulled himself up rolling his eyes fondly. They sat next to each other, leaving well enough of room for Logan to join them, but he stayed kneeling on the porch. He was getting up and making dinner soon enough anyway, no use in getting comfortable.
"Sure it wasn't." Virgil shook his head in amusement and shared a look with Logan.
"Pat home yet? I want a kiss from him too." Roman said with a hopeful smile.
"Any moment, will another kiss from me make do until then?" Logan wondered and Roman nodded.
"Always." He said and they shared another kiss. It was strange, Logan thought, how he could never get tired of kissing his fiancés.
"You too, Verge." Roman said, causing him to roll his eyes.
"I've been kissing you plenty since we got home." He said but complied and pressed his lips to Roman's. Logan pulled a little at Roman's hand, not wanting him to get too distracted from the task at hand.
"Now dinner, love. We will need to eat."
"Fine." Roman dragged out on the 'i', closer to a whine than anything else. He allowed Logan to pull him up from the hammock and didn't let go of his hand as they made their way inside. Virgil actually got up and followed them, mumbling about having nothing better to do than to help out.
Neither of them enjoyed cooking very much, but they were all happy to surprise Patton with his favorite food, and seeing as he was getting home any minute it was about time they got started.
