There was a knock on Virgil's open door and he looked up over his laptop that was on his stomach. He didn't know how long he had been lying on his couch watching youtube, but his neck ached slightly from the angle it had been for the past fifteen-something videos.
"Hey, L. What's up?" He said, spotting the logical side in his doorway. He closed his laptop as Logan stepped inside, sitting up and setting it aside on the couch.
"Greetings, Virgil." He said, bending his head forwards just a little bit in a nod, a hand coming up to smooth his tie.
They were both silent then, and no matter how much Virgil liked Logan's calm company he despised awkward silences and it was fairly obvious that Logan had visited to say something. Otherwise he would have just popped up with a book or entered rambling about whatever it was he wanted to share, not standing hesitantly in the middle of Virgil's room and making him nervous.
"Anything I can help you with?" He wondered, urging Logan on because otherwise he would have the time to overthink and decide that something horrible had happened and Logan had been sent to inform him. Logan's uncharacteristic hesitate was not exactly making him relax in his presence like he usually did.
"Yes, actually, Roman and I were wondering if you would like to accompany us on an outing. We were planning on having a picnic in the imagination and we would both love it if you would accompany us." Logan said, pushing his glasses up ever so slightly before clasping his hands behind his back in the wait of Virgil's answer.
That wasn't anything bad at all, except maybe the 'going outside' part. He didn't really understand why Logan was nervous. But maybe he was just misunderstanding Logan. He wouldn't trust himself to read someone's emotions anyway.
Virgil quickly considered his words and had to face the fact that it really was about time he got his imaginary self some made up sunshine and pretend fresh air. Even as sides they needed to go outside now and again to feel good, it was beneficial for his stupid mental health as Logan had once spent about thirty minutes explaining.
Also, a picnic sounded pretty good, he was hungry.
"Yeah, okay. I'd like that." He said, nodding, and his answer had Logan smiling unusually bright. Virgil tried not to stare at that smile but it was difficult as it was not that often he got to see it. Although with how they had grown closer over the past year Virgil got to see it more often, which he secretly delighted over.
"Wonderful. I will tell Roman. We were planning on leaving in thirty minutes. Meet you at the door to the imagination at five thirty?" He said and they agreed on that time as it sounded perfectly fine to Virgil.
Logan disappeared after that, likely to tell Roman and to put together the picnic basket. Virgil assumed he didn't have to help with that as Logan had specifically told him to meet them in thirty minutes. He wondered if the others would join them too or if it would just be the tree of them.
Logan had only mentioned himself and Roman, but maybe Virgil was the first they asked? He didn't know, but the idea of spending an entire picnic alone with Logan and Roman had him feeling pretty nervous.
Not only were the two of them a couple, which had Virgil feeling a bit of a third wheel sometimes, he was also kind of a little bit in love with them both.
