Patton had just lifted a tray of cookies out of the oven when he spotted his boyfriend in the doorway to the kitchen. He smiled at Roman's disheveled appearance, setting the tray down and closing the oven.

"Are you feeling any better, sweetie?" He asked and took his oven mitts off. Roman shook his head, messy hair falling over his eyes and he pulled his blanket tighter around himself. 

"I'm tired." He mumbled, taking a step into the kitchen and leaning against the fridge. Patton went up to him, putting a hand on his forehead and frowning.

"You're still burning up, love. You should be in bed, you need lots of rest." He said, but Roman pouted at him, looking unfairly cute even if he was sick. It was incredibly inconvenient that Patton couldn't kiss him without risking becoming sick too, peak homophobia.

"But I miss you." He said, draping his arms around Patton's shoulders and burying his face in the crook of his neck. Patton rubbed circles on his back, humming when Roman complained about not receiving an adequate amount of cuddles.

"You know, we can cuddle on the couch, maybe watch a movie too? Because I'm done making cookies and I cleaned up while they were in the oven." Patton said. Roman tightened his arms around him.

"Please." He said, not moving an inch. Normally such a proposition would have had him bouncing in excitement and already pulling Patton to the living room, two days of high fever must have really exhausted him. 

"You go bundle yourself up in the blankets by the couch and I will be with you in a moment. You can choose a movie too." He said and Roman reluctantly let go of him. Patton kissed his forehead and smiled, then shooing Roman out of the room. Once he had left Patton got a glass and filled it with mango juice (Roman's favorite) and made him a piece of toast with crofters jam on it.

Then he joined Roman who was sitting in the corner of the couch with two blankets around him and with a pillow in his arms. He looked half asleep but smiled at Patton as he put the glass and the plate with the toast onto the table.

"You need to eat and drink." Patton said, picking up the Disney movie Roman had chosen from the coffee table and putting it in the player. He sat down with Roman, who immediately moved and laid down with his head in Patton's lap. Patton almost automatically moved his hands to Roman's hair, running his fingers through the soft curls.

"Have you drank anything today?" He asked, because Roman wasn't really the best at taking care of himself while he was sick and as Roman's boyfriend and roommate he felt slightly responsible for Roman's continued survival.

"I drank that glass of water you left on the nightstand, also swallowed a painkiller because I woke up with a headache." Roman said and Patton leaned down and gave him an approving kiss on his cheek.

"Good, now try eating something, too. Please." Patton said in his sweetest voice, knowing that Roman couldn't refuse him.

Roman reached out for the plate with the sandwich, sitting up a little bit straighter. He actually ate the whole toast, then taking a few sips of the juice, even. Then he laid back down, head resting on Patton's thighs, pulling the blanket up tighter around himself as he looked over at the tv screen to keep watching the movie. 

Patton hoped Roman wasn't feeling cold, he'd much rather have Roman throwing his blanket off because of how hot he was because that would mean that his fever was going down. 

Last time they checked Roman didn't have as high of a fever as he had had yesterday and the day before that, but he was still sick and Patton disliked it. He wanted Roman to return to his normal, energized and happy, self.

"Thank you for taking care of me, Pat, you're a great boyfriend." Roman mumbled, making Patton smile. 

"Don't thank me. Of course I take care of you, I love you." He said and Roman looked deliriously happy.

"Beautiful smile." Roman added, grinning weakly but genuinely up at Patton. He yawned, face scrunched up, looking cute and all. Then he turned his head and sneezed right into Patton's shirt, which was less cute but Roman looked so surprised by the sneeze that Patton had to laugh.

"Sorry." Roman said sheepishly and Patton shook his head and tried to stop smiling.

"It's alright, now rest. Watch the movie, fall asleep in the middle and wake up feeling better, okay? Restore your health, you've been sick for far too long and I miss kissing you." Patton added a pout and puppy-dog eyes, as if giving Roman a begging look would rid him of his illness.

"I'll do my best, my love." Roman promised, even if he did not have much say in the matter, sitting up and leaning his head on Patton's shoulder. He took Roman's hand in his and put an arm around him. Within ten minutes he'd fallen asleep cuddled up to Patton.
