"When's mom coming back?" Nadia whined. "I wanna show her my cool move. It'll be sure to impress her."
Future Lucy laid a hand on Nadia's shoulder and smiled down at her, saying that her and the rest of the recon team would be back soon.
"Why do you even bother?" Alex grunted. "You're not gonna get any stronger by using close range magic like that."
Nadia puffed out her cheeks and defended herself, saying, "Yeah well my mom has close range magic and she could beat your dad, so maybe close range magic is more powerful than you think. Besides! I'm not only close range. I have my other magic."
"Whatever, idiot. Go take a nap or something. We all need quiet so that the grown ups can plan."
"Uncle Sting says that I can stay here when they plan," Nadia countered. "I asked him myself, yes I did...unless I didn't. But I did!"
Alex scoffed and went over to a back corner, leaving the rest of the kids to talk amongst themselves. Frosch and Lector had been dismissed from the map and went over to the kids as well. Lector flew over and landed on Kenai's head while Frosch waddled over to Rasha and jumped in her arms.
"We have a great plan for the dragons, yes," Lector stated.
"Fro thinks so, too!"
"No way! Did they say if we were helping this time? Because that'll be totally killer. Maybe we can help in the front this time or--"
"No Nadia," future Lucy interrupted, "you are staying where it's safe."
"But Auntie Lucy, I'm so much stronger now! I could totally take a dragon--"
Alex was the next one to speak up, "And how did that go for you last time, dumbass?"
A tense aura filled the room, and everyone became dead silent. Nadia hung her head down and made tight fists with her hands. Future Wendy came over and dragged Nadia over to the bar and sat with her. They spoke quietly, and the group of wizards looking through the window couldn't make out what they were saying.
"What was that all about?" Gray questioned.
"Something must've happened," Mavis responded simply.
Nadia was back to her old self a minute later, and she bounced back up to the second floor.
"You'll all see. I'm gonna be just as strong as my parents! Dragons will shake in my presence!"
Kenai gave a childish grin and waved her back down, and they continued their conversation at a bench towards the middle of the guildhall. Suddenly, a wall of steel dropped from the ceiling and caught Alex in a cage-like structure. Everyone whipped their heads around at the noise and saw the twins laughing devilishly from the top of the basement stairs. Alex glared at the twins with a look that would send chills down anyone's back.
"Come on Alex," Kellin snickered, "if you're so strong then you can surely get out of it."
"But brother," Lena played along, "doesn't steel beat lightning?"
Alex growled, her hand glowing again into another dragon claw. She swiped at the steel and it crumbled. The twins paled and bolted over to their mother when Alex started to stomp towards them. Future Levy tried to calm the situation down before it could escalate. Before she could say anything, there was a loud siren. Everyone gasped loudly, and the adults quickly pushed all the kids into the basement. Bruce and Alex were the ones that were able to stay, and they stood with the wizards as they faced the door. The observing Fairy Tail looked on confused at their sudden actions, but their confusion soon disappeared when they heard the loud roars.
