I nodded and Thomas hugged me tight and went to Fry, and got his and Minho's food for the run through the maze. I went in my room and saw Newt sitting in my bed with our breakfeast. „Come here." , he said and pointing to sit next to him and I did. „Mmmmmhhhh that tastes so good and the pancakes are still warm." ,I mumbled while eating the first bite. „Yeah it is, isn't it? Does Minho know?" , he asked. „No but Thomas is going to explain everything to him while running. I'm not sure, if this is a good plan. I mean they should concentrate on mapping the maze and be careful." I sighed. „Yeah but they did this quite often and nothing happened yet, so don't worry. And the Grievers won't come out during the day." „But what happened to Ben? How did he got stung during the day." „I don't know." , he looked at me and saw, that I was worried and tried to explain it but he couldn't. „But this happened just one time. That doesn't mean, that's going to happen often." After finishing the breakfast, we walked over to the garden and I worked there with Newt. I like Newt but I don't know, if gardening is the right thing for me. I want to do something, that helps us to get out of here. „Newt?", I asked to get his attention, „Yeah, y/n." he answered and then I asked something he was shocked about: „How do I become a runner?" He looked at me like he jut saw a ghost. „y/N , are you serious? Thomas and Minho didn't even want to be a runner but if there would be no runne rin this shucking place the other ones would lose hope. And you saw what happened to Ben. I think that you could be everything but a runner around here. Ok?" I just nodded annoyed. After a while the sun set and Thomas and Minho ran out of the maze and Thomas came over and hugged me. „Hey how are you?" , he asked. „I'm fine and you? Did you told him?", he nodded. „Ok Minho was quite chilled with it. He said that it doesn't change anything for him. I want to talk to you about somethin differnt. We have to go to the meeting room and decide what to do with ben. You don't have to come okay?" „No i want come to the meeting. I want to convince the other, not to bamish him." Thomas nodded, „But you know, that nobody can survive a stinge. The start acting weird and behave like some sort of cannibal. There is no vaccin. And the doors will close in a hour maybe he will banished today." I nodded: „Ok I will take a shower and then we'll meet in the meeting room." I hugged him and walked over to my room. I took a shower and slipped into some fresh clothes. I walked over to the meeting room and saw the majority of boy sitting there and waiting, till Alby started the meeting. Newt started talking, because he was the second in command: „So we all assembled here to talk about the incidents, that happenend the last few days. We have three rules around here and the second is to not harm anyone around here and Ben did hurt another glader." Everyone starred at me. Alby git the attention back to him: „So today we have to talk about what happened and what's going to happen. Ben obviously got stung and was out of hhis mind. But we all now, that there is no cure for the stinge of a griever. So Ben was a great and kind person but if we won't banish him today, he will change completly and doens't even have one oiece of personality left, which is dangerous. Are there any objections?" everyone looke on the ground. But I couldn't stay silent and looked at thomas. He knew what I was going to do and just shaked his head. And whispered with his mouth the word : „no!" But i fdn't pay attention to ot and stood up. „But there have to a way, he is one of us and he didn't even harm me. I already healt. There is no need, to banish him. Please." But Alby said sternly: „y/n you don't want to banish him, because you think it's yoir fault but no it isn't. He got stung and there is no way to help him anymore but deliever him from suffering." „But there is always another way. You can't give up. What happens, when someday you got stung Alby? You would also want to get help and support." Alby started shouting: „No, y/n I would rather die then become a non human thin with no personality. And now shut up you don't have an idea what happens, when the people got stung. Maybe ben lost his personality completly by now. He would tell us, to do what is right, wheter it's hard or not." I tried to protest, but Alby looked at Thomas and gave him a look and then Thomas just squeezed my arm and oulled me out of the room.
