Chapter 40

August 2nd Metropolis 10:40
The Justice League had cleared and evacuated the area from Metropolis Bay through Morrison Bay to Gotham Bay, as they were the predicted areas of arrival for Darkseid and his fleet. They were stationed across they area waiting patiently until a giant boom tube opened above Morrison Bay and the ships cam through and began firing non the cities knocking over buildings

"Tai, Jessica and Lara take those canons out" Helena ordered

"On it" Jessica Cruz replied

"Raven and Star with me we're drawing that son of a bitch out" Cassie said taking off

"What do we do" Wally asked

"Any Parademons come down we take them out" Helena said

Cassie came flying back crashing down into the ground and they looked up to find Darkseid flying in the sky holding Star and Raven before launching them towards the ground

"Ahh the young ones are now the protectors" Darkseid said

"And we'll get rid of you for good" Jaime shouted

"Where are the two who got rid of me last time" Darkseid asked

"They retired" Lara said

"Then I'm not worried at all" Darkseid proclaimed

"You should be" Lara said flying at him with Cassie

Lara and Cassie hit him but he barely budged, he grabbed them and banged them together before flinging them back towards Helena.

"Think your tactic through next time" Helena said

"Will do" Lara groaned

"I've had enough of this foolishness, time to burn" Darkseid proclaimed

Darkseid began firing his omega beam towards Helena, Cassie and Donna jumped in front of her with their gauntlets to deflect them but they were starting to lose until the two Green Lanterns Jessica and Tai began forming a dome with Raven to keep the beams out but their field began to crack, until there was a crashing sound. They dropped their field since Darkseid had come crashing down, then they heard explosions getting closer as something crashed into Darkseid, it was the Batmobile

"Who did that" Darkseid shouted

"Hel was that you" Conor asked

"No" she replied

The ground under Darkseid began to crack and he went flying up in the sky before crashing back down. When the heroes looked up they saw a flowing red cape and glowing red eyes as they came down

"Miss me" Jon said landing beside Darkseid

"I'm going to enjoy this fight" Darkseid said

"Not as much as me" Damian said gliding down from a nearby building

There was a GCN helicopter circling the scene of the fight as this was going

"This is Vicki Vale reporting live from the battlefield. It appears that an enemy from a few years ago has returned and is being met by the full force of the Justice League, and by full force it seems that Robin and Superboy have returned as Batman and Superman after seven years." Vicki said into the camera

"We're going to need you to get out of here before you get hurt" M'gann said

"Sure, let's get out of here thanks Miss Martian" Vicki said as they left the area

The fighting with Darkseid had begun again

"Why are you two here" Helena asked

"Someone accessed my files on HellBat and I knew what it meant" Damian said
