Bruce was sitting in his armchair reading his paper in a last effort of self enjoyment before the next days fight if Raven's vision was to be believed. When Tim and Helena walked into the room with worried looks

"What has you two looking so worried?" Bruce asked

"Are you being serious we're about to fight the biggest threat we have ever faced" Helena said

"Yeah but we will win; if we work together" Bruce said

"Bruce what if we don't, what if something goes wrong" Tim said

"Then whoever is left will have to learn from our mistakes" Bruce said

"We won't fail, I have assured success" Damian said from the door

"Is this that secret project of yours, what is it?" Bruce asked

"Its a secret but hopefully you won't have to find out if this goes according to plan" Damian replied

"How are you two so calm" Helena said

"I'm used to it by now" Bruce said

"I am as well, I was brought up in a world of violence and death this doesn't faze me" Damian said

"That's not what Jon said" Helena muttered

"What has Jon said?" Tim asked

"Nothing" Damian said going red

"I would very much like to know" Bruce said

"Well according to Jon, Damian is terrified of losing him and he's pretty sure he's heard him cry" Helena said

"I have not cried" Damian said

"Okay before World War three starts, get to bed and sleep we may have a long day tomorrow" Bruce said

They all went to bed without question and got some much needed rest when they woke up in the morning nothing had happened they got suited up and prepared for the worst and it arrived at around half twelve a giant boom was heard over Metropolis which shook it and the surrounding cities as armies of Parademons flew through followed by Darkseid himself. He was met by the League before the younger heroes turned up to help

"The Heroes of Earth to bow their heads before the Great Darkseid" Desaad announced

"Kneel before him" Steppenwolf ordered

"How about no" Damian said

"Robin don't anger them" Superman said

"Attack them, no prisoners" Darkseid ordered

As the Parademons and Steppenwolf began the attack Clark began to fly at Darkseid himself. A bloody battle ensued but no one except the Parademons died however, some heroes were badly injured.

"You put up quite the fight" Darkseid announced

"Your not half bad" Clark replied

"Clark, Jon, Kon, Kara, Donna, Cassie and Diana. I want you to do a full frontal assault" Bruce said

"Well we will need a distraction so he doesn't use his omega beam" Diana said

"The speedsters are out of action" Clark said

"I can provide one" Damian said

"Damian you can't" Bruce said

"I can now give me twenty seconds" Damian said

Damian grappled up to the roof of the building and called the Batwing he began firing bullets and rockets at Darkseid grabbing his attention while the Supers and Wonders flew at him. Before they hit him Darkseid fired an omega beam at the Batwing blowing it up but Damian ejected just before contact. Darkseid was knocked back by the force of the heroes but he managed to shoot a beam as he fell to the hat went through Damian's cape as he glided causing him to fall.
