Third Person POV

“Move back.”

The command left Sesshomaru’s lips like a blade drawn from its sheath—quiet, cold, absolute.

Without another word, he lifted his now-awake son and placed him gently atop Ah-Un, settling the child in front of Rin. The girl wrapped her arms around the boy instinctively, her small frame brimming with fierce determination.

Jaken, however, had no such composure.

“A-AH! WAIT FOR ME!”

The imp scrambled like a frightened frog, sprinting with surprising speed before launching himself onto Ah-Un’s back in a graceless leap.

Sesshomaru ignored the commotion behind him.

He stepped forward.

Just enough to stand between the children… and the approaching threat.

His clawed hand flexed.

Poison gathered along his fingertips before lashing outward into a gleaming whip of venomous light.

The wind stirred his silver hair as he stood—tall, elegant, immovable.

The air itself seemed to bow to him.

The Lord of the West had taken his stance.

Across the battlefield, Inuyasha drew the Tessaiga with a harsh metallic ring.

He stopped a short distance from Sesshomaru.

Kagome stood beside him, already raising her bow, spiritual energy flickering along the arrow resting against the string.

Above them, Kirara carried Sango and Miroku through the air. Shippo clung tightly to Sango’s shoulder, his small face tense with worry.

Every eye fixed on the towering armored figure before them.

Then a voice slithered through the battlefield.

Dry.

Raspy.

Rotting.

“The Shikon Jewel…” the voice rasped from within the grotesque armor of Moryomaru.
“…is in their hands.”

A pause.

Then—

“GET THEM.”

Sesshomaru’s poison whip lashed forward.

The strike cracked like thunder.

But the attack dispersed harmlessly against the monstrous armor.

Not even a scratch.

Sesshomaru’s golden eyes narrowed.

Moryomaru began moving.

The creature raised a clawed limb, preparing to strike—
