Mentions of smoking!

This is for if you have a crush on Josh:

It was summer of 2013, I sat in my front yard along with Josh and Chris. A small puppy ran around in front of us. "So, how'd you finally convince your parents to get you a German Shephard? I thought they only wanted small dogs." Josh asks, picking up the dog when it ran past, he received a big kiss from the animal.

"They do. I bought him myself, told them I didn't know the breed. But just by looking at Chewy I think you can tell he's a shepherd."

"I can't believe you named your dog after a walking carpet in a space movie." He replied, Chris gasped.

"You're kidding right? Why wouldn't she name it after Star wars?" His face broke into a look of disbelief. "Have you never seen it?!"

"You told us you watched it!"

Josh's eyes widened, "I mean yeah I did. Really enjoyed when the- the uh- when the Jedi returned." By the look on our faces he knew he fucked up. "I'm just- just Joshing you."

"Josh look at me." Our eyes met, I could tell he was trying to hold back a laugh from the shine in his eyes. "Call your parents and tell them you are staying at my house." I took Chewy from his arms and picked up his phone, pushing it into his hands. "For two days. And if they say no tell them it's important."

He hesitantly picked up his phone and punched in the number, looking at Chris for answers. All the blonde boy had to say was, "I'll get snacks!" Chris reached into my hoodie pocket and pulled out my keys. I let him do so and watched as he walked to my worn down pickup truck.

"You're going to make me watch all of them aren't you?"

"Absolutely." He gazed into my eyes for a moment, trying to read the expression on my face.

A smile flashed onto his lips, "fair enough. I'll order pizza." He picked up his phone and dialled the number.

"You know that by heart?"

"Don't act so surprised, most of the time it's just my sisters and I at home so we just order-" he cut off his sentence, "Hi. Could we order a..."

His voice trailed off while he waited for my response. "Cheese, duh. You know this!"

After ordering, he took the dog off my lap. "Cheese huh? I thought you liked-"

"Josh, who else is eating this pizza?"

"Oh... right Chris, now it makes sense." He held out his hand for me. "Let's go in, it's getting cold. Besides, I think Chewy is tired."

I accepted his offer and followed him into the small house behind us.

My parents were off on a business trip and wouldn't be back for a few days. Being an only child/my siblings were at a friends meant I was alone when they left, which I hated. Chris had been staying with me so I wouldn't be scared. I always hated the thought of being alone, made me anxious. And having someone else there seemed to help me sleep. I suffered from constant nightmares so having Chris there makes me feel safer. Maybe that's why Chris and I shared a room up at the cabin whenever we go.

Sure enough, Chewy rushed over to his bed when Josh placed him on the floor. He tripped over the blanket he decided he didn't want and fell over. "How can one little animal be so fucking cute?"

"I didn't take you as a dog person Josh, or an animal person."

"Are you kidding? I love dogs. Just haven't been around them much." He threw himself onto the couch. Chewy's head looked towards him and he quickly scrambled to his feet.
